A truly unforgettable experience with Sepp 🏔️
I had such a wonderful and unforgettable experience with Sepp. Since I don’t speak German and my English is not perfect either, I really appreciated that Sepp’s English was excellent. He could understand what I meant very well and made communication feel very easy and comfortable. Sepp is an extremely thoughtful and caring person. What impressed me the most was how much he tried to understand what kind of travel experience I truly wanted. Before the trip, he asked if there were any special snacks I would like him to prepare, and throughout the day he was always open to customizing the itinerary or adding little surprises based on my preferences. Once you tell him what you like, he really does his best to make it happen. He also prepared some lovely snacks for me, including pretzels and fruit — and they were honestly so delicious, especially the blueberries! 🥨🫐 He is also a very safe and reliable driver. During the journey, he introduced the places we passed by and shared ideas about how to enjoy the area. I could really feel how much he loves Bavaria, and that made the trip feel even more meaningful. Sepp has traveled to many countries, and I really enjoyed listening to his stories and experiences. We talked a lot along the way about love, family, culture, social values, and life in general. I truly loved our conversations. And of course, before chatting, he also kindly asked whether I felt like talking or preferred to simply enjoy the scenery quietly, which I found very considerate. Another thing I really appreciated was his photography skills and his knowledge of the area. When we arrived at Hallstatt, he took me to the best photo spots and helped me take photos that I was very happy with. Besides finding great places for pictures, he also introduced me to the must-see areas in Hallstatt and brought me directly to enjoy and learn about them. It made the visit feel much richer than just taking photos — I could really experience the beauty and atmosphere of the place. 📸 Also, I have to mention that Sepp wears traditional Bavarian clothing, which made the experience even more special, authentic, and fun. He looks great in it, and it really added a unique charm to the whole trip. Besides having excellent English, he also has a very pleasant voice, which made listening to his stories even more enjoyable. The most special part of the trip was that my original plan was to visit Königssee again. However, during the journey, Sepp asked why I wanted to go to the same place for a second time. He then realized that the place I actually wanted to visit was Hallstatt, but I had chosen Königssee because I was worried Hallstatt might be too far away. As soon as he understood this, he immediately asked me, “Do you want to complete your bucket list?” If yes, we had to leave right away. After thinking for about three seconds, we immediately changed the plan and went to Hallstatt. I am so grateful that Sepp encouraged me to follow what I truly wanted. If I had not gone to Hallstatt, I probably would have left with regret. Thanks to him, I finally completed one of my bucket list dreams and had such a beautiful experience. ✨ I joined the trip by myself, but Sepp made me feel completely comfortable, cared for, and genuinely welcomed. I could feel his passion throughout the whole day, as well as his sincere and heartfelt way of treating his guests. Because of him, I had such a happy, warm, and memorable day. Sepp is not just a guide — he is thoughtful, warm, flexible, professional, charming, and genuinely passionate about creating meaningful memories for his guests. I highly recommend him to anyone visiting Bavaria or Austria. This was truly one of the most special travel experiences I have ever had. 🌷

Best birthday ever
This was absolutely the highlight of my trip! I booked this excursion for my 18th birthday and I must say, it was an amazing day. From the initial booking to the actual event, everything was super easy and smooth. Sepp is great with communication and is a very thorough tour guide. He is knowledgable and kind. We visited many beautiful places, he drives wonderfully, and is an expert with his destinations. We were provided with the most wonderful snacks and stress-free booking of the events we went to. There is plenty of time spent at all the destinations, allowing for great pictures. He is well spoken and goes well out of his way to make the experience unforgettable. The lunch provided has many different options, catering to all different tastes with an authentic touch. No regrets here!

Our 2 days with Sepp were incredible! We spent 2 days in Munich and small towns on the way to Salzburg, and then visited Hallstatt. He knew so much about the area and provided incredible history and knew all of the details and the ins/outs of making our time in each place perfect. Thank you for a wonderful trip!

Fantastic tour guide!
I cannot say enough about what a wonderful driver and guide Sepp is! From the moment we met him at the Munich airport we knew he was great! He was a very good communicator in setting up our trip, punctual on our arrival at the airport in Munich to transport us to Salzburg, and all around a very kind, caring and intuitive soul. He made our trip extra special! He was patient, a very good driver, positive and enthusiastic! I would highly recommend his services- he will make your trip extra special, too!

Amazing Tour and Guide!
I was in Munich for work and had a few days of free time. Sepp made my trip amazing. He was extremely knowledgeable and very flexible to make my experience the best possible. We happen to run into my co-worker in Hallstatt and he was kind enough to bring her to lunch and Salzburg. Amazing guide and person!

Why this scores 50
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Tour to Hallstatt and Salzburg with Austrian Lunch: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Munich.
How much does Private Tour to Hallstatt and Salzburg with Austrian Lunch cost?
+
Prices start at $999 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Munich usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Tour to Hallstatt and Salzburg with Austrian Lunch take?
+
Plan for about 11 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Munich is not rushed.
Is Private Tour to Hallstatt and Salzburg with Austrian Lunch worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 50 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 10 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable food & drink in Munich, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Tour to Hallstatt and Salzburg with Austrian Lunch?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is Private Tour to Hallstatt and Salzburg with Austrian Lunch suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 11-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Tour to Hallstatt and Salzburg with Austrian Lunch?
+
Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Munich can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Munich and add a light layer if any part of the 11-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Tour to Hallstatt and Salzburg with Austrian Lunch start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Munich within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Munich?
+
On Outty we rank every Munich experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Guided Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site Tour with Train from Munich, Munich Classic Bike Tour @ 11.30am with Surfers & beergarden stop, Dachau Memorial Half-Day Tour from Munich (Early-Start). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Munich?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Munich?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
