4 fabulous days touring with Johnny

My husband and I spent 4 wonderful days with Johnny. He arrived every morning at our hotel on time and always happy. He made sure we saw all the most important places but also allowed for us to customize our daily tours. As a local and having grown up in the Algarves,, Johnny's history is invaluable. We learned so very much. Whether you tour 1 day or 5 days, Johnny is who you need to tour with.

Response from the operator: Dear Donna, Thank you so much for your kind words. It was truly a pleasure spending those four days with you and Mr Bob. Your enthusiasm, curiosity, and wonderful spirit made every day enjoyable for me as well. I am delighted that you enjoyed learning about the Algarve and that I could share some of the history and local stories that are so close to my heart. I especially appreciated how I could tailor the tours to your interests and create such memorable experiences together. By the end of our time together, I genuinely felt I had made two new friends. Thank you for your company, your kindness, and all the great conversations we shared. I wish you both all the best and many more wonderful adventures ahead. If you ever return to the Algarve, I would be delighted to see you again. Warm regards, Johnny

Stunning day trip with Johnny's tours

We had a fantastic private tour with João. Already the planning of the trip was a pleasure as João is very responsive, professional and truly gives everything for his guests. We wanted to escape the touristy area and see more of the real Algarve and learn more about culture, traditions, history and old handicraft. We couldn't be happier with our day and can only warmly recommend Johnny's tours to everyone!

Response from the operator: Dear Sandra, Thank you so much for your lovely words and for taking precious time to writhe your review. It was truly a pleasure sharing this special day with you. I am delighted to hear that the experience matched exactly what you were looking for, exploring the real, authentic Algarve, far from the crowds, and diving into the region’s culture, traditions, history, and old crafts. I enjoyed a lot being your tour guide. You and Mr Juhani, were an amazing company. I always do my best to go the extra mile for my guests, so knowing that you felt well taken care of from the very first message means a lot to me. Your curiosity and enthusiasm and your knowledge about Portugal made the day even more enjoyable. I felt you love Portugal. Thank you for the warm recommendation, it means the world. I hope our paths cross again ( maybe next year right ? ), for more discoveries in my beautiful region! Warm regards to Finland. João ( Johnny )

Do Not Miss Loule, Olhao and Faro!

What a fabulous day Johnny lined for us! We chose a private tour due to our limited time in the Algarve region. We rate tours based on 1) communication, 2) itinerary, 3) information, 4) organization and 5) pricing. The communication was great. We were notified and reminded of the pick up time. Johnny asked what we wanted to do and see. He interjected several stops that proved to be interesting, so our itinerary included a visit to local artisans, including a coppersmith and a basket weaver. We visited the local markets in Loulé and in Olhão. The churches and cathedrals we visited were breathtaking! And all that time Johnny was explaining the history of, the customs, the traditions of each place. The pricing was agreed upon up front. At the end of the day, we felt we certainly got our money’s worth. To have a tour guide put so much enthusiasm and pride in the Algarve and Portugal made this tour very special and meaningful. You will enjoy and value the personalized tour with Johnny, no matter what you do and see!

Response from the operator: Dear Jan and Mr. Lamar, Thank you so much for your thoughtful and detailed review. Your words are too kind. It truly made my day! It was an absolute pleasure meeting you both and having the chance to show you a little piece of the Algarve during your stay in my beautiful region. From the local markets to the artisan workshops and historic churches, it was wonderful to share the stories and traditions that make this region so special. The beauty and different art and styles of our churches and Cathedral are really unique. I am glad you choose this tour. Your curiosity, kindness, and genuine interest in learning about the culture made guiding you an absolute joy. I am really, so happy that you enjoyed the itinerary and felt the heart and pride I have for my home... that means more to me than words can say. And, I was really happy that you enjoyed your lunch at that restaurant in Olhão... it will be our secret. Wishing you both many more beautiful adventures together, and I hope our paths cross again one day. Dear Jan and Mr. Lamar, you know Portugal will always be waiting to welcome you back! With warm regards, Johnny Your Algarve tour guide

Private Tour to Charming Loulé, Olhão and Faro: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Faro.

How much does Private Tour to Charming Loulé, Olhão and Faro cost?

    +

Prices start at $40 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Faro usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Tour to Charming Loulé, Olhão and Faro take?

    +

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Faro is not rushed.

Is Private Tour to Charming Loulé, Olhão and Faro worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 69 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Faro, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Tour to Charming Loulé, Olhão and Faro?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Tour to Charming Loulé, Olhão and Faro suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Tour to Charming Loulé, Olhão and Faro?

    +

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Faro can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Faro and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Tour to Charming Loulé, Olhão and Faro start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Faro within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Faro?

    +

On Outty we rank every Faro experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Sunset Tour | Ria Formosa - From Faro, Ria Formosa - Boat trip to the 3 Islands: Armona | Culatra Island | Lighthouse, From Faro: Benagil Cave, Marinha & Carvoeiro [Full-Day Tour]. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Faro?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Faro?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
