Lilja is amazing and Philippe is why!
We returned from four days in Iceland and cannot say enough about this tour. Philippe, our guide, was amazing. We stayed at The Retreat at Blue Lagoon and scheduled an early departure. Philippe arrived prior to the designated time and informed the staff. My wife and I had arranged for a private tour and were greeted by Philippe and escorted to a very comfortable Mercedes 4WD van. Before we left the resort, he shared his WiFi access and asked if we had any preferences for the trip. Having watched endless YouTube videos, we told him that we are aware of the Golden Circle must sees and wished to take them in. Philippe told us that we should do the trip counterclockwise to avoid the early buses and heavy tourist presence that Easter Weekend. We drove the coastal highway and he explained Iceland's history, heritage and culture through amusing stories. My wife asked if he knew of a place to grab a Diet Coke, as the Blue Lagoon (and much of Iceland, it seems) are beholden to Pepsi products. He took us to a bakery and pointed out some delicacies, along with Diet Cokes. We then headed to the geysers, where he did an amazing job sharing knowledge. Of course, we visited the "must sees" but Philippe asked if we wanted to stop at a dairy farm for what he promised was the best ice cream in Iceland. That answer is always "Yes!". The small dairy is another "must see". The cows that produce the milk to make the ice creams are in full view of the shop. Kids will love seeing the calves and friendly Icelandic dogs that need a scratch and cuddle. Philippe noticed my wife commenting on the Icelandic horses and stopped so we could get up close to some. Iceland is gorgeous - the snow had fallen (just over a foot) the night before and Philippe drove us by ski resorts that had been closed all season due to a lack of snow. He explained how important this snow was, especially for the fishermen. My wife and I had anticipated a six hour tour but this lasted 8! We learned so much and cannot overstate how professional Philippe is. We look forward to returning and requesting his service again! We can only give this 5 Stars but Philippe deserves 10! Thank you Lilja Tours.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for this wonderful review! We're truly delighted that you and your wife had such a memorable experience exploring Iceland with Philippe. He is indeed a gem — his passion for sharing Iceland's history, culture, and hidden treasures like that dairy farm ice cream stop is what makes every tour special. We love that he turned your Golden Circle journey into an 8-hour adventure filled with so many personal touches, from the Diet Coke mission to meeting the Icelandic horses up close. Your kind words mean the world to us, and we'll be sure to share them with Philippe. We would love to welcome you both back to Iceland — Philippe will be ready! Warm regards, Lilja Tours

Must do!!
Julian was an amazing guide with lots of knowledge. I was picked up right on time from my hotel and the day consisted of waterfalls, lava tunnel, geysirs and some lesser known spots that were quiet and away from any crowds! We had lunch at the dairy farm and had some (delicious) ice cream afterwards, this was a lovely stop off and felt like such a treat and a part of real Icelandic culture! Such a perfect day and I would 100% recommend to anyone visiting Iceland that wants to see it all like I did!
Response from the operator: Hi Kathleen, Thank you so much for your kind review! We hope the rest of your journey to Iceland was also unforgettable! Julien

Fantastic Experience
We spent two full days with Lilja Tours exploring the Golden Circle, Reykjavik and the Northern Lights. It was a private tour for our family of 5 and absolutely made our trip to Iceland. We knew what we wanted to see in Iceland and had planned our trip months in advance. Then, two days before we were set to leave, volcanic activity threw everything up in the air. Julien, from Lilja, alerted us to the probability of certain activities being shut down and suggested alternatives which we quickly booked. It would have been a very different (and disappointing) trip if he hadn't reached out to get us thinking about revising our itinerary. Also, we got a great display of the Northern Lights due to his thoughtful consideration of where and when the optimal day and time would be to view them. Julien was knowledgeable, flexible, accommodating and very easy to work and communicate with. We can't recommend Lilja Tours more highly. Thanks for showing us Iceland!
Response from the operator: It is always a great pleasure to find the lights and show this incredible (but unpredictable) show to our clients. I am happy to have been able to provide this magical experience to you and your family.

Golden circle private tour
Julien was an excellent guide. He gave us all the interesting information we needed but also gave us space to explore for ourselves. The comfortable vehicle meant the tour was well worth the price tag. Personally we felt we could have done without the dairy farm and had more time in the national park, but i can see that the delicious ice cream would be a major draw for younger families. We had an unforgettable day on this tour.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for the kind review. I also had a great time during this tour with you all. I hope everything goes well for you. Julien

Glymur Waterfall hike with Otto was a day our family will remember!
We did 2 tours with Lilja and LOVED them! Otto picked us up from the airport and took us to the Glymur Falls hike. It was quite adventurous– we crossed a river twice, scrambled up some small hills, walked on all types of terrain. The waterfall at the end was one of the most beautiful sites I have ever seen. We loved the challenge and adventure of it all. Glymur may be the most favorite hike I have ever done! We liked our tour so much that we booked a 2nd tour. Mervi took us through the Golden Circle. We loved the stop at the creamery for ice cream in the company of cows, and seeing the geothermal bakery! We learned so much from Mervi about Icelandic culture and history. It made our stay in Iceland so much more enjoyable to have learned from a local! Thank you for the great family memories!!
Response from the operator: Hi, Glymur is a wonderful hike, probably the best within one hour drive from Reykjavík. I am happy you liked it!

Why this scores 57
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Tour Of The Golden Circle With Farm Visits In Iceland: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Reykjavik.
How much does Private Tour Of The Golden Circle With Farm Visits In Iceland cost?
+
Prices start at $1150 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Reykjavik usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Tour Of The Golden Circle With Farm Visits In Iceland take?
+
Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Reykjavik is not rushed.
Is Private Tour Of The Golden Circle With Farm Visits In Iceland worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 57 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 9 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Reykjavik, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Tour Of The Golden Circle With Farm Visits In Iceland?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Tour Of The Golden Circle With Farm Visits In Iceland suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Tour Of The Golden Circle With Farm Visits In Iceland?
+
Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Reykjavik can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Reykjavik and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Tour Of The Golden Circle With Farm Visits In Iceland start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Reykjavik within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Reykjavik?
+
On Outty we rank every Reykjavik experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Reykjavik Food Walk - Local Foodie Adventure in Iceland, Small-Group Golden Circle, Blue Lagoon with Ticket & Kerid Crater, Reykjavík Small group Walking Tour - by CityWalk. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Reykjavik?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Reykjavik?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
