    Timing is everything!

The tour from Nice requires too much time spent in the car, and two little times seeing sites and Villages (e.g., in Moustiers Saint Marie, we only had time for lunch-did not see the Village at all). I’d recommend staying in Provence & picking up a tour from there, instead. Also, it is important to check the status of the lavender harvest before booking. In 2026, the heat caused an early bloom and harvest. Our driver had to work very hard to find one small Field with late-stage lavender, not the picturesque views we were expecting. In fact, Viator should not run this tour late in the season.

    Verdon Gorge

Huge gratitudes to Adam for the amazing excursion to the Verdon Gorge! His professionalism ensured we felt completely safe on the challenging mountain roads, and his engaging stories made the long journey seem effortless. Incredible turquoise water, breathtaking views, and impeccable organization—this trip for sure will be a memorable one!

    Beautiful views! Our...

Beautiful views! Our guide was a bit grumpy, and talked a lot about the politics, which I didn’t appreciate. Also we only stopped for 15 min st each little town, I would like to have more time to explore

    Lavender Fields and The Gorge

We are airline crew and very experienced travelers obviously. The driver had little knowledge of any of the towns we visited and then was upset when our lunch was delayed. He said I should have txt him but I had told him I did not have a contact for him and he did not have a card. Instead of calling on WhatsApp he called on my direct US line🙈. And then just took us to the first lavender field there was and said this is it. Sad…it could have been a lovely day had he had a bit of knowledge and maybe a couple of recommendations for lunch. I have to say in the past Viator has been good and I have recommended it but I may take a step back.

    Poor communication by company

We booked this tour mainly for the lavender fields. A little over a week before our tour date, I reached out to the company via Viator to ask whether the lavender were still available but they never replied. On the day of the tour, our guide Jack did the best he could, knowing that our main reason for booking this tour was to see the lavender fields. He went above and beyond and asked around to other tour guides to try and help us find some. I’m extremely disappointed in the company however for their lack of communication. If we had known the lavender was harvested already, we would have cancelled the tour.

Private Tour of Gorges of Verdon and Fields of Lavender in Nice: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Nice.

How much does Private Tour of Gorges of Verdon and Fields of Lavender in Nice cost?

    +

Prices start at $650 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Nice usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Tour of Gorges of Verdon and Fields of Lavender in Nice take?

    +

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Nice is not rushed.

Is Private Tour of Gorges of Verdon and Fields of Lavender in Nice worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 54 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.1/5 across 19 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Nice, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Tour of Gorges of Verdon and Fields of Lavender in Nice?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Tour of Gorges of Verdon and Fields of Lavender in Nice suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Tour of Gorges of Verdon and Fields of Lavender in Nice?

    +

Around 7 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Nice can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Nice and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Tour of Gorges of Verdon and Fields of Lavender in Nice start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Nice within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Nice?

    +

On Outty we rank every Nice experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include ★ Walking Tour of Old Nice and Castle Hill, NO DIET CLUB - Unique Local Food in Nice !, Nice City Segway Sightseeing Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Nice?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Nice?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
