An Excellent Tour
An excellent outing with a lovely, and super knowledgeable, guide. The monastery wine tasting was a delight and the wine maker very interesting. We were extra lucky on the visit to the church and memorial site to witness a local wedding. Our guide was able to translate the commentary that the musicians were singing. The tour of Chania Old Town was fascinating and we had our attention brought to things that we would not have noticed.

Buyer Beware
The tour never took place and a full refund was issued. The tour operator didn’t communicate with us that his tour guide was in the hospital. The driver didn’t speak English and was of little assistance. Only when he was able to get the tour operator on the phone did we iron out the issue and learn what was happening. Tour operator offered us a free tour but we weren’t comfortable doing so with a driver who didn’t speak English.

Can I Give This Tour 6 Stars
We really did not know what to expect from Crete. We were incredibly surprised. Chania was amazing. Enjoyed every aspect of the tour. Loved the monastery wine tasting. The Sommelier took his time and educated us about winemaking in Greece. Very intimate experience. Great olive oil and balsamic (bought some) and amazing wine. We drove around Chania with Stelios. Lots of great history and stories. Then we we went to old town/port Chania. We could have spent days in this little town. Had great greek coffee and after walking some more, we went to a favorite local spots of Stelios's on the water and had a traditional Greek lunch. Food was terrific. The best part of the trip was Stelios. What a great personality from a motivated and super smart young man. I would recommend this tour and specifically, our guide, to everyone visiting Chania. Great job!

Fantastic day in Chania
We had a fantastic day in Chania! Stayos was our private guide for the day and he took us through some off the beaten path places and also to the old Port. He went out of his way to ensure all our needs were met. He was fun and made sure we enjoyed our day. The wine tasting at the monastery was an incredible experience and the knowledgeable staff gave us wonderful information and delicious wine. Highly recommend this tour!!!

The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Chania?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Chania?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
