Wonderful Experience at the Great Wall and Summer Palace – Highly Recommend!
My wife and I had a truly lovely journey to the Great Wall with our wonderful tour guide Sherry and our courteous driver WangWenKuan. Both were incredibly pleasant and made our entire experience smooth and enjoyable. We began our day at 7 AM, taking the scenic hour-and-a-half drive from downtown Beijing to the Mutianyu section of the Wall. Sherry and WangWenKuan handled all the logistics flawlessly, including the chairlift access, making everything feel effortless. On the way, Sherry shared a wealth of historical information about the Wall’s construction over several dynasties, enriching our understanding and appreciation of this magnificent site. Sherry was a true expert—her explanations brought the history to life and added so much depth to our visit. At our request, a slight adjustment was made to our itinerary, and they were more than happy to accommodate us. We genuinely felt like VIPs from start to finish. Our day concluded with a visit to the breathtaking Summer Palace, rounding out a memorable and well-paced day of exploration. Thank you both so much! We would absolutely recommend this tour group to anyone visiting Beijing and plan to book more tours with them in the future. Mark & Jane California, USA P.S. One of the best parts—there’s no pressure or surprise charges. Just excellent service and genuine hospitality. Recommend starting your day early, especially during peak season and high temperatures.

The Grand City of Mutanah is not a legend!
I participated in a half-day tour of the Grand Canyon, thanks to the tour guide Andy's very attentive and professional explanation and accompaniment, which allowed me to add a lot of knowledge of the Grand Canyon and the Chinese historical culture and also generated a strong interest, during the trip, Andy also actively helped me to take many great photos, introduced a lot of small things in Beijing, so I really don't do it! Thank you Andy for making my Grand City Moutayang a wonderful experience in Beijing, all arrangements were in place and carefully during the process, very Recommendation!

Great Wall is great fun
Lucy and her driver took us around Beijing. An amazing highlight was seeing the Great Wall (held together by sticky rice and dead bodies!) in person. My children who are not as appreciative of culture as I would like were very comfortable with Lucy, riding in the cable car and toboggan with her (two children, one of me). Lucy even helped us understand the subway system so we could get around independently the next day. Toboggan ride was brilliant!!!

Private Tour: Mutianyu/Badaling Great Wall and Temple of Heaven: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Beijing.
How much does Private Tour: Mutianyu/Badaling Great Wall and Temple of Heaven cost?
+
Prices start at $98 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Beijing usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Tour: Mutianyu/Badaling Great Wall and Temple of Heaven take?
+

Is Private Tour: Mutianyu/Badaling Great Wall and Temple of Heaven worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 62 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Beijing, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Tour: Mutianyu/Badaling Great Wall and Temple of Heaven?
+

Is Private Tour: Mutianyu/Badaling Great Wall and Temple of Heaven suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Tour: Mutianyu/Badaling Great Wall and Temple of Heaven?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Beijing can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Beijing and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Tour: Mutianyu/Badaling Great Wall and Temple of Heaven start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Beijing within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Beijing?
+
On Outty we rank every Beijing experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Mubus: Mutianyu Great Wall Bus Tour with Summer Palace Options, Beijing: Top 6 Highlights All Inclusive 2-Day Private Tour, Private Mutianyu Great Wall Trip With English-Speaking Driver. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Beijing?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Beijing?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
