Unforgettable day in Luxor!
Our private tour to Luxor was just fantastic! Even the organization went smoothly in advance, and our guide was fantastic – very friendly, humorous and incredibly knowledgeable. He told us the history of temples and pharaohs so excitingly that we were completely immersed in the world of ancient Egypt. Visiting the Karnak Temple, Valley of Kings and Temple of Hatshepsut was impressive – each highlight had its own magic. It was especially nice that we could take our time anywhere and the program was flexibly adapted to our wishes. A big thank you to the whole team for this perfectly organized day – we will never forget this tour and can highly recommend it to everyone!

Good Trip Overall
English Version below My mother and I had booked a day trip to Luxor. It had all worked out very well with the morning pick-up at the hotel, transfer to all historical sites and the drive home! A big plus were the many water bottles, some of which were provided especially for us, as we wanted to stay hydrated at up to 43 degrees. The car also had a well-functioning air conditioning. The guide knew a lot about the historical sites. We felt in good hands. My mum and I had booked a day trip to Luxor. Incredible trip
We had an amazing trip to Luxor, it was the highlight of our holiday. Luxor is incredible and a can't miss thing to do. The Valley of the Kings and temple of Hatshepsut were the highlights. Choosing to do the private tour was a great choice, it was so comfortable and easy. We were able to spend as much time as we wanted at the sites and weren't being rushed. Being able to spend longer at the Valley of the Kings, doing extra tombs, and deciding our own itinerary was fantastic. Our driver Yasser was fantastic, he was a life saver with cold water after walking in the heat and he generally was so friendly and helpful. We couldn't have hoped for a better driver.

Day trip to Luxor
We booked the day trip to Luxor with MIDO at the Arabella Azur hotel. He presented the trip realistically (not "different from all the others") and gave us good advice. We booked a tour with several guests in a minibus. Since no one else registered for the desired date, we got a private tour for the same price. The driver YASIR was very nice. On the journey there and back, which took about 4 hours, we had a good time and saw and heard a lot about normal life in Egypt. In Luxor, SHERIF joined us as a tour guide. As a trained Egyptologist with excellent German skills, he was able to explain a lot to us in the temples and in the Valley of the Kings. We gave him extra money for a 30-minute Nile cruise and a visit to the tomb of Ramses VI. Everything seemed very safe and guarded by the police and army. November is a good month for visiting the temples and tombs because it is warm; but not as hot as in summer :-) The people are very friendly. Of course, many people want to sell something (YASIR and SHERIF advised us where things are extremely overpriced or where you should never buy anything; e.g. from children...) and after a day's excursion and 50 such encounters, it's enough... A short sales show in a stone souvenir workshop was probably unavoidable before visiting the Valley of the Kings. The show in the alabaster factory was fun. We gave a €2 tip, but didn't buy anything. Everywhere you are offered help or an extra (taking a photo of the visitor, petting a goat, etc.???) and then a euro coin is expected, even when going to the toilet (50 cents is usually accepted there). We saw what we wanted, had exciting conversations and travel impressions and felt safe in Egypt and very well looked after during the excursion! YASIR also took us to the airport the next day (despite traffic jams and closed roads). Thank you very much!

Why this scores 65
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Tour: Luxor Day Trip from Hurghada: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Hurghada.
How much does Private Tour: Luxor Day Trip from Hurghada cost?
+
Prices start at $90 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Hurghada usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Tour: Luxor Day Trip from Hurghada take?
+
Plan for about 12 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Hurghada is not rushed.
Is Private Tour: Luxor Day Trip from Hurghada worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.5/5 across 13 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Hurghada, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Tour: Luxor Day Trip from Hurghada?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Tour: Luxor Day Trip from Hurghada suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 12-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Tour: Luxor Day Trip from Hurghada?
+
Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Hurghada can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Hurghada and add a light layer if any part of the 12-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Tour: Luxor Day Trip from Hurghada start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Hurghada within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Hurghada?
+
On Outty we rank every Hurghada experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Hurghada Diving Adventure one Day with two Dives Boat Trip, Hurghada to Cairo: Pyramids & Museum for First-Time Visitors, Scuba Diving Full Day Boat Trip W/Lunch & Transfer from Hurghada. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Hurghada?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Hurghada?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
