Wonderful day riding horses, walking about and enjoying art!
We spent a lovely day on the countryside around Auckland riding horses, tasting wine, enjoying a lovely lunch at a winery, doing an art walk, and stopping to marvel at the spectacular scenery. Our guide/driver David was just marvelous. My husband tweaked his hip earlier in our trip and so he elected to skip the horseback riding. Not one to let the time pass idly, David took my husband about on a lovely drive. He made other tweaks and adjusts to our trip that helped make it just a fantastic day, notwithstanding my husband’s mobility issues. Couldn’t recommend Auckland & Beyond and David highly enough. We used A&B for other tours and they were all equally perfectly planned and executed. Great and timely communication.
Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your fantastic experience with Auckland & Beyond Tours! We’re thrilled to hear that you had such a memorable day exploring the countryside, riding horses, tasting wine, and enjoying the stunning scenery. David truly goes above and beyond to ensure every guest has a comfortable and enjoyable experience, and we’re so glad he was able to make personalized adjustments to accommodate your husband’s needs. It’s wonderful to know that our communication, planning, and execution met your expectations across all your tours with us! We appreciate your kind words and recommendation, and we look forward to welcoming you on another adventure in the future! Best wishes & safe travels!

Enjoyable tour but overpriced
We really enjoyed this tour. The horse riding (Horse Riding Warkworth) was really enjoyable. They adequately chose horses based on our skill level and as an experienced rider I got a choice of horse. The family who owned and ran it we were lovely, clearly cared for the horses well and made sure you had a good time. We were taken on a fantastic scenic ride with great views and plenty of opportunities to go faster. At the wine tasting we were able to select a "flight" each and had a platter between us. The platter was outstanding and the amount of wine in the flight was generous. We also really enjoyed the sculpture park. The only downer was we weren't given enough time and had to rush around, miss bits out and not fully appreciate the bits we did see. I hate to give negativity for something we did genuinely enjoy but I cant help thinking, however, that the tour is somewhat overpriced. The value of the things we had equated to about $220, so we essentially paid near $1000 for the car and guide

Worth it!
Amazing time! Definitely worth checking out. Horse back riding was personal and a lovely time. Wine tasting was short but the owner was so interesting to speak with. All in all, very happy to have taken the tour.

Amazing!
This is my first time horseback riding. I was very scared and they were very patient with me and helpful. I also have very bad knees and they were able to help me get on the horse and off the horse. They were constantly encouraging me that everything was gonna be OK. The scenes are beautiful, especially on the Tasman sea!!! I definitely recommend this
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re thrilled to hear that you had such a positive and memorable experience on your first horseback ride. It’s completely natural to feel nervous, and we’re so glad our team was able to support you every step of the way with patience and encouragement. Your courage truly paid off! The views over the Tasman Sea are breathtaking, and we’re delighted you were able to take in the beauty of the trail while enjoying the full experience. Thank you for recommending us—we’d love to welcome you back anytime for more scenic adventures and relaxing moments! Warm regards, The Auckland & Beyond Tours Team

Why this scores 58
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Tour - Horse Riding, Wine Tasting and Art Trail: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Auckland.
How much does Private Tour - Horse Riding, Wine Tasting and Art Trail cost?
+
Prices start at $448 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Auckland usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Tour - Horse Riding, Wine Tasting and Art Trail take?
+
Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Auckland is not rushed.
Is Private Tour - Horse Riding, Wine Tasting and Art Trail worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 58 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Auckland, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Tour - Horse Riding, Wine Tasting and Art Trail?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Tour - Horse Riding, Wine Tasting and Art Trail suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Tour - Horse Riding, Wine Tasting and Art Trail?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Auckland can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Auckland and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Tour - Horse Riding, Wine Tasting and Art Trail start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Auckland within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Auckland?
+
On Outty we rank every Auckland experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Hobbiton & Waitomo Caves Guided Day Trip from Auckland incl lunch, Hobbiton Movie Set Small Group Tour with Cheeky Kiwi Travel, Hobbiton & Waitomo Glowworm Caves Tour with Lunch from Auckland. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Auckland?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Auckland?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
