    What you'll see and do

    1. The Pyramids Of Giza

The Pyramids of Giza are one of the world’s most famous archaeological sites and the last surviving wonder of the ancient Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. They stand on the Giza Pyramid Complex, just outside Cairo. The three main pyramids * Great Pyramid of Khufu (Cheops) – The largest and oldest pyramid, originally about 146.6 m (481 ft) tall. Built around 2580–2560 BCE, it was the tallest human-made structure on Earth for nearly 4,000 years. * Pyramid of Khafre – Slightly smaller but appears taller because it sits on higher ground. Some of its original smooth limestone casing remains near the top. * Pyramid of Menkaure – The smallest of the three main pyramids, built for Pharaoh Menkaure.

    2. Great Sphinx

The Great Sphinx Nearby is the Great Sphinx of Giza, a massive limestone statue with the body of a lion and the head of a king, believed to represent Pharaoh Khafre. How they were built Although the exact methods are still debated, archaeologists generally agree that: * Millions of limestone and granite blocks were transported and carefully placed. * Workers used ramps, sledges, ropes, and simple tools rather than modern machinery. * The pyramids were built by skilled laborers and craftsmen, not by enslaved people as was once commonly believed. Why they were built The pyramids served as royal tombs for pharaohs. Ancient Egyptians believed that preserving the king’s body and providing goods for the afterlife would help ensure a successful journey after death.

    3. Saqqara

Saqqara is Egypt’s oldest and largest ancient necropolis, serving as the burial ground for the ancient capital of Memphis for more than 3,000 years. It lies about 30 km (19 miles) south of Cairo. Highlights of Saqqara * Step Pyramid of Djoser * Built around 2670 BCE for Pharaoh Djoser. * Designed by the architect Imhotep * Considered the world’s first large-scale stone building and the earliest pyramid in Egypt. * Serapeum of Saqqara * An underground complex where the sacred Apis bulls were buried. * Famous for its enormous granite sarcophagi, some weighing over 60 tons. Noble Tombs * Saqqara contains beautifully decorated tombs of officials and nobles, featuring colorful scenes of daily life, farming, hunting, and religious rituals. * Among the most famous are the tombs of Mereruka, Kagemni, and Ti. Why Saqqara is important * It marks the beginning of pyramid construction in ancient Egypt. * It preserves the evolution of Egyptian architecture from mastabas to true pyramids.

Wow! What an amazing experience! Our tour guide, Ibrahim, was so knowledgeable, detail oriented and very willing to help us learn. He has a true love for Egyptian history and culture and it showed in his enthusiasm. Both he and the driver, Ahmed, were courteous and accommodating. You could not ask for a better guide and driver.

Great tour of Saqqara, Dashur and Memphis with Reem!

Our tour to Saqqara, Dashur and Memphis was great. Our tour guide was Reem, and she was very knowledgeable and friendly. She and the driver picked us up at the hotel on time, and they drove us to the Saqqara, Dashur and Memphis. We booked the option without tickets included, so she help us get them at the ticket counter at each place. She provided information at each stop, she gave us enough time at each place to explore, and she didn’t rush the tour. She even got some dates and candy for us to try! The car was very comfortable, clean and the A/C was working very well. At the end of the tour, neither she nor the driver asked for a tip. Overall, it was a great experience, and I recommend this tour company and Reem as the tour guide.

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Giza and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Giza?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
