Amazing Day
What an amazing day trip with our guide, Ehab and driver, Hussein. October was a great time to visit because the temperature had just dropped 10%. Ehab reached out beforehand to arrange when and where to meet us, and was very up front and honest about the costs of the tickets we would need. He was also very careful about explaining the itinerary and what would happen next. Hussein is an excellent driver and got us to the Saqqara archaeological site first. None of us were prepared for the immense size of the stonework we were about it see. Like most of Egypt, the government continues to uncover and restore new locations, so everywhere is a work in progress. Ehab did a wonderful job describing the glyphs and purpose of each aspect of the many statues and columns. From there to the Step Pyramid where the day started to heat up. I chose a very light long-sleeved shirt, light hiking pants, breathable sandals (Chacos), and a wide-brimmed sun hat to protect my pale skin. I cannot imagine slogging through in jeans or constantly reapplying sunscreen on bare legs and necks, but your mileage may vary. Lunch was a kind of disappointing buffet. Overdone kofta and chicken served to you near a buffet of bland toppings to add to stale pitas. It was so busy with tourist buses coming in that I didn’t enjoy it. The waiter also implied I should tip for him bringing us sodas. I declined, but a kid got me at the sink of the bathroom, so it guess it worked out. The last stop was the Great Pyramid at Giza. Incredible. Ehab knew every corner and was always showing us different aspects of the tomb. You can’t get very close to the Sphinx but it is also enormous. I would say that many reviews do not mention the stops we took at local shops. These are filled with tourists but not what I would call “tourist traps”, since the Ministry of Tourism enforces a rule (or we just happen to only visit shops) that disallow pushy sales. It was interesting to see how a cotton carpet or papyrus is made and I felt fine accepting their hospitality and declining to buy at the end. If you’re like me and don’t like to be in situations involving sales or negotiation unprepared, this is my call to give it a try and stay positive! The cotton clothing shop was the only one where I felt like we were just there to “spend money”, as opposed to enjoying ourselves (while spending money). 5 stars would do again. Ask Hesham for Ehab! He made the day unforgettable.

Highly recommend airport transportation
Our airport pickup was so smooth and easy. Our flight was delayed and baggage claim took longer than expected, Ehab was very patient waiting for us. He kept reaching out and making sure we were ok. On the way to our hotel he gave us a tour of Cairo.

Hotel transfer to Cairo international airport
Ahmed was prompt at my hotel. He Allowed me to finish my breakfast before meeting to go to the airport. He ensured the I was indeed going to the right terminal before drop off. Cairo international airport is pretty confusing for a first time traveler to Egypt. I appreciated his help very much.

Private Tour Giza Pyramids, Sphinx, Memphis, Saqqara and Camel Ride: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cairo.
How much does Private Tour Giza Pyramids, Sphinx, Memphis, Saqqara and Camel Ride cost?
+
Prices start at $10 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cairo usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Tour Giza Pyramids, Sphinx, Memphis, Saqqara and Camel Ride take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cairo is not rushed.
Is Private Tour Giza Pyramids, Sphinx, Memphis, Saqqara and Camel Ride worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 76 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 18 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cairo, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Tour Giza Pyramids, Sphinx, Memphis, Saqqara and Camel Ride?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Tour Giza Pyramids, Sphinx, Memphis, Saqqara and Camel Ride suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 1. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 8-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Private Tour Giza Pyramids, Sphinx, Memphis, Saqqara and Camel Ride?
+
Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cairo can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cairo and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Tour Giza Pyramids, Sphinx, Memphis, Saqqara and Camel Ride start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cairo within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Cairo?
+
On Outty we rank every Cairo experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include All-in-One Giza Tour, inside Pyramid, sphinx, Camel ride & lunch, VIP Private Giza Pyramids, Sphinx Tour –Inside the Pyramids&More, Best of Cairo Private Giza Pyramids, Sphinx and Grand Museum Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cairo?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cairo?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
