    A great day in Bangkok

This is a fantastic day out. An hour at the the Erawan Museum was perfect, before we moved on to the Ancient City. This place is huge! Our guide, June, was brilliant throughout. She drove us around the park, making sure we saw all the main buildings and was only too happy to take lots of photos for us. We had a great day and highly recommend it. Thanks very much June!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for valuable review. We continue to serve best service in future.

This is for a DRIVER ONLY! There is NO tour GUIDE!!.

This is for a DRIVER ONLY! There is NO TOUR and NO GUIDE!! Despite being titled “Private Tour for Ancient City Bangkok and Erawan Museum” BE VERY CAREFUL. There are TWO versions of this excursion that are NOT readily clear. On the day that we checked for availability, there was.ONLY ONE option listed to select. Excited to see these sites, we booked it! I did notice that the reservation said “without official guide,” but we thought that meant we would not have guides who were employees of the Ancient City Bangkok and/or the Erawan Museum. Based on the title of this tour and the cost of this tour, we thought we would have someone with us to provide information about each location, even if that person was not “officially” officiated with these two sites. This hypothesis was further reinforced by the company assuring us of an English-speaking driver when we confirmed the day before. BUT ASK SPECIFICALLY IF YOU HAVE A GUIDE!! Our driver was a very kind and friendly guy (Wexu was the redeeming part of the tour!) and he had a clean and comfortable vehicle… but to our further frustration with this company, our driver had ZERO proficiency in English. (Thank goodness for Google Translate!) When we immediately contacted the company through Viator messaging about the absence of a guide, they were dismissive and just kept saying that our reservation said “no official guide.” The options when selecting the tour should say to be clear: “PRIVATE TRANSPORTATION AND ENTRY TICKETS ONLY, NO GUIDE AVAILABLE ON THIS DATE.” The correspondent for this company was unapologetic, stated there were no options other than to return to our hotel with no refund, and offered no conciliatory gesture. If you are making a decision about booking this tour, you should know that the per person entry fee for the Erawan Museum is 500 baht (about $15 USD) and the entry fee that includes the on-site lunch buffet for the Ancient City Bangkok is 950 Baht (about $30 USD). We paid double that, $90 per person, since we assumed the DOUBLED price was because it included TRANSPORTATION AND A GUIDE. The company informed us that IF a guide had been available, the price would have been TWICE AS MUCH per person. It would be a personal decision if you want to pay $180 per person in order to have $45 in entry tickets and the upcharge for a private car and a guide. Furthermore, this company applies a 350 baht ($11) charge if you want your driver (whom you have already paid for) to drive you around the truly enormous Ancient City Bangkok campus. If the walk seems daunting, it costs the same 350 baht to rent a golf cart from the Ancient City regardless of whether you arrived with this tour or arrived on your own. At the very least, we hope this review helps to clarify for the next person what you are purchasing… especially if (like our experience) there are NOT multiple options to select “with official guide” versus “without official guide” on the day that you happen to check availability. Again, we think the Ancient City Bangkok is a FIVE STAR MUST SEE. The Erawan Museum paled in comparison, but it was an okay garden with religious symbolism if you have the time. The only thing that kept this from being a one star rating is our driver was a very nice person and this is a worthy itinerary, but you do not have to go through this tour to see these sites… and especially if there is no guide on the day you want to go, it would be the same experience to go on your own and buy your own tickets.

Response from the operator: Dear Hara, Thank you for your review and feedback, which totally seems that you clearly dont understand the itineary and what are the included in the program! We have provided excatly what its written in the program, we cannot provide services just becuase you assume that their will be a guide from the tour, its just basic understaning that you must know that if its written "without tiur guide" so it means there will be no tour guide, there is nothing to assume for anything! we cannot help or provide service just because your assume that there will be guide even without reading program itineary and includings. At last we can can only says that please read carefully, if dont understand any point you can contact the tour oprator( which you didnot ask or check ) rathen then just assume anything, so that your review dont mislead to the other customers. Thank you & regards

    The driver was very helpful

The driver was very friendly and looked after us well, there was an issue because I made the booking not knowing that me having a Thai wife would make the booking invalid however the driver was able to help us with the ticket office and we were able to go ahead with the trip. He was very helpful to us. I will make a suggestion that trip advisor make it clear about this policy as I was not aware of it until we turned up at the Ancient City

Response from the operator: Thank you for valuable feedback, Driver Qten will be notified of your gratitude definitely.

    Different programme

Ancient city was a way to learn a little bit from all over Thailand, not true temples, but a representation of architecture and customs around Thailand. The guide we had knew a lot and was very loving and caring for us all the time!

Private Tour for Ancient City Bangkok and Erawan Museu(min 2 pax): questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Bangkok.

How much does Private Tour for Ancient City Bangkok and Erawan Museu(min 2 pax) cost?

    +

Prices start at $3000 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Bangkok usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Tour for Ancient City Bangkok and Erawan Museu(min 2 pax) take?

    +

Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Bangkok is not rushed.

Is Private Tour for Ancient City Bangkok and Erawan Museu(min 2 pax) worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 49 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.4/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Bangkok, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Tour for Ancient City Bangkok and Erawan Museu(min 2 pax)?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Tour for Ancient City Bangkok and Erawan Museu(min 2 pax) suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Tour for Ancient City Bangkok and Erawan Museu(min 2 pax)?

    +

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Bangkok can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Bangkok and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Tour for Ancient City Bangkok and Erawan Museu(min 2 pax) start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Bangkok within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Bangkok?

    +

On Outty we rank every Bangkok experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Bangkok Backstreets Food Tour with 15+ Tastings, Old Siam Bangkok Food Tour with 15+ Tastings, Tingly Thai Cooking Class with Morning Market Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Bangkok?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Bangkok?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
