Our next stop is at Diakofto, where you'll board the Cog Railway (Odontotos) that connects Kalavryta with Diakofto, traveling through the breathtaking Vouraikos Canyon. This route is renowned for being one of the most beautiful natural sights in Greece and has been celebrated as one of the most spectacular railway rides in the Balkans. The train journey takes you through picturesque landscapes, winding along streams and climbing the steep narrow gorge into the mountains. You'll pass through tunnels, over waterfalls, and along cliffs, surrounded by lush forests of pine and oleander. Kastria Cave of the Lakes
Our driver will meet you in Kalavryta to continue the tour at the mysterious, magnificent, and unique "Cave of the Lakes," a rare creation of nature. Inside, you’ll find a total of 13 small and large lakes, each displaying different colors depending on the oxides present in the rocks. You will see the stunning "hanging bridge" and the "waterfalls" cascading through the cave, giving you the sensation of walking along a floating corridor. You'll also admire the unusual stalactite formations. In winter, when the snow melts, the cave transforms into a subterranean river with natural waterfalls. The explored length of the cave is 1,980 meters, with 500 meters currently developed for visitors. The exploration begins through an artificial tunnel that leads you directly to the second floor, where the views are truly awe-inspiring. The passage between the lakes is made by elevated artificial bridges. After the cave tour, we will make a stop for lunch in the picturesque village of Kalavryta.

We have a great driver, Jerry, who is super patience.
The trip was great. Jerry is a patience and cute guy. He really goes slowly as we have a seniors. He also explained clearly when we asked him any questions. We really enjoyed our trip with Jerry.

Great driver!
Theo was awesome - extremely accommodating the entire day. A few glitches along the way were nobody's fault and not within his or the company's control (they graciously reduced our trip price afterward as a result, very considerate to do so). Despite everything, it was still a great day - We'd definitely book them again for this or another excursion.
Response from the operator: Hello my dear, Thank you for your feedback! We are thrilled to hear that Theo provided you with an awesome experience and was extremely accommodating throughout the entire day. We appreciate your understanding regarding the few glitches that occurred along the way, which were beyond our control. We are glad that our company took responsibility for the situation and graciously reduced the trip price as a gesture of consideration. We are delighted that despite the challenges, you still had a great day and that you would consider booking with us again for this or any other excursion. Your satisfaction and enjoyment are our top priorities, and we appreciate your trust in our services. If you have any further feedback or if there's anything else we can assist you with in the future, please don't hesitate to let us know. We look forward to welcoming you back on another memorable excursion. Best regrads,

Excellent experience
Mr George was an absolute gentleman. He was friendly, a very good driver, was very clear with instructions and made sure to get us to each place in time despite traffic. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would gladly recommend the tour.

Very nice Birthday trip for my wife
Very nice driver. Nice Limousine, great spots visited. The best was the train ride. The cave we expected a bit larger but was nice as well. The guide at Korinthwas also very nice.

A tour you don’t want to miss!!
Mr George was just awesome! He made our day memorable and answered all our many questions about the places we were going and about Greek life in general. He stopped at some places not on the official itinerary because we showed interest. Don’t miss this opportunity!!

Why this scores 70
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Tour Corinth, Cog Railway Trip, Cave of Lakes, Kalavryta: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Athens.
How much does Private Tour Corinth, Cog Railway Trip, Cave of Lakes, Kalavryta cost?
+
Prices start at $85 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Athens usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Tour Corinth, Cog Railway Trip, Cave of Lakes, Kalavryta take?
+
Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Athens is not rushed.
Is Private Tour Corinth, Cog Railway Trip, Cave of Lakes, Kalavryta worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 70 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 12 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Athens, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Tour Corinth, Cog Railway Trip, Cave of Lakes, Kalavryta?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Tour Corinth, Cog Railway Trip, Cave of Lakes, Kalavryta suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 10-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Tour Corinth, Cog Railway Trip, Cave of Lakes, Kalavryta?
+
Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Athens can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Athens and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Tour Corinth, Cog Railway Trip, Cave of Lakes, Kalavryta start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Athens within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Athens?
+
On Outty we rank every Athens experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Athens Small Group E-Bike Tour, Small Group Greek Traditional Food Tour in Athens 20+ Tastings, Athens Scenic Bike Tour with Regular or Electric Bike + Acropolis. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Athens?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Athens?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
