1. Pura Puseh Desa Batuan

   Bali Batuan Temple is a local Balinese Hindu temple looked after by the local resident of Batuan countryside. 2. Tegenungan Waterfall

   Tegenungan Waterfall is a great attraction for nature lovers staying in Ubud or have neighbouring Sukawati among their sightseeing itineraries. The waterfall is halfway between Ubud and Bali’s provincial capital of Denpasar and is considered the closest natural attraction of its kind that you can reach within a half-hour drive southeast from Ubud central. You can go down to the vast pebbly base and enjoy a dip in the plunge pool, but this is not advised after heavy downpours, due to the risk of flash floods. There are restaurants here that serve great local dishes such as the signature Balinese-style crispy fried duck and which serve as good spots to hang out before or after heading down to Tegenungan Waterfall.

3. Elephant Cave

   Goa Gajah ‘Elephant Cave’ is an archaeological site on the cool western borders of Bedulu Village, 6 km out of central Ubud. To the unknowing, Goa Gajah’s name can be slightly misleading, often creating an impression that the site is a gigantic dwelling full of elephants. After taking the flight of stone steps down to the Goa Gajah temple complex, you often don't need more than an hour to explore and admire the relic-filled courtyard and view the rock-wall carvings. The site contains a central meditational cave, bathing pools and fountains.

4. Tegalalang Rice Terrace

   No trip to Bali is complete without a visit to one of the island’s gorgeous rice terraces. You’ll see them everywhere as you motorbike or drive around, but if you want to visit the big kahuna of rice fields, Tegalalang Rice Terrace. This is the famous rice terrace near Ubud that you’ve probably seen in everyone and their mother’s Instagram photos. It’s touristy and most people visit for the photo opp, but these fields really are stunning. Unlike some places around the world that have been spoiled by tourism, the Tegalalang Rice Terraces are definitely still worth visiting despite their notoriety. 5. Puri Saren Agung is the palace of the Ubud royal family, making it one of the most prominent landmarks in Ubud. It serves as a cultural repository of arts, dance and literature. The palace’s stage and meeting halls host international events, including the opening ceremonies of the annual Ubud Writers & Readers Festival. The vision to establish a painters association was born in 1936 and saw a collaboration to form the Pita Maha between Tjokorde Gede Agung, Spies, Bonnet and several local artists.
