Wonderful ceramics and beautiful silk fabrics.

The quality and quantity of ceramics available is amazing! Harley was great in leading us through the market and helping when I made a purchase. He also served as translator, history, professor, and gave us options to do some extra shopping. There was never a worry with our driver. He handled the traffic well and we didn’t have to wait long for him to pick us up after shopping.

    Not what we expected

First of all, it was a lot and long sitting in the car, arriving at the silk village, the dirtiness and the mess is noticeable. Well. Interesting to see the silk weavers at work. Next village was the ceramics village, huge number of ceramics shops with a huge stock. If you already like something; it will not be shipped for you ..and taking a vase in your suitcase seems not advisable. All in all so rather disappointing

    Wonderful Experience

We did a private tour with myself, 2 of my daughters and a granddaughter (5 years old). Our tour guide, Thi, went out of his way to pay attention to my granddaughter and make her feel comfortable. It was her first experience in Vietnam and was a bit overwhelmed at times. We started our tour at the ceramics village where Thi helped us shop and negotiate. Before we left we were given the opportunity to actually work with a potter's wheel, by far the most fun for everyone. We followed with a lunch in Hanoi (excellent street food) and then some time at the silk village. Park of the silk village was visiting a Pagoda with Thi as our guide. I highly recommend this tour to anyone.

Awesome day of ceramics, food, and silk!

Our guide Thi took me and my visiting family members on a full day tour of Bat Tràng and Vinh Phuc silk village. He was an excellent host, punctual, courteous, knowledgeable, and an all around excellent human being. He helped us navigate the ceramics market and negotiate prices on items we purchased in Bat Tràng and thanks to his guidance we were able to bring home quite a few excellent pieces. After the village he took us to an amazing lunch at a hole-in-the-wall place that I (being a native Hanoian) would never have found. During the car rides around the city he was very informative about Vietnamese history and ended our visit to the silk village with a viewing of a beautiful pagoda. To crown it all off he was so helpful with entertaining our 5 year old tour member even giving her a lift across a busy street. I can not recommend this guide more!

Private tour Bat Trang ceramic village - Van Phuc silk village with local meals: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Hanoi.

How much does Private tour Bat Trang ceramic village - Van Phuc silk village with local meals cost?

    +

Prices start at $65 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Hanoi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private tour Bat Trang ceramic village - Van Phuc silk village with local meals take?

    +

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Hanoi is not rushed.

Is Private tour Bat Trang ceramic village - Van Phuc silk village with local meals worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 50 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.5/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Hanoi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private tour Bat Trang ceramic village - Van Phuc silk village with local meals?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private tour Bat Trang ceramic village - Van Phuc silk village with local meals suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private tour Bat Trang ceramic village - Van Phuc silk village with local meals?

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Hanoi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Hanoi and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private tour Bat Trang ceramic village - Van Phuc silk village with local meals start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Hanoi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Hanoi?

    +

On Outty we rank every Hanoi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Ninh Binh Day Trip from Hanoi with Tam Coc or Trang An & Mua Cave, Ha Giang Loop Tour 4 Days 3 Nights with Ha Giang Vision Tour, Halong Bay Day Tour With Titop Island, Cave, Kayak & Lunch. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Hanoi?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Hanoi?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
