Valle delle Ferriere
Following Canneto river, walking among lemon gardens and the ruins of Medieval paper mills, the path arrives into the Integral Reserve of the Iron Valley, where it is possible to see same rare botanical species, in a fairy-tale atmosphere surrounded by waterfalls. It goes through the medieval hamlet of Pontone, one of the oldest settlement of the Amalfi Coast, and finish in the center of Amalfi. Your wilderness tour starts at Duomo Square in Amalfi, where you'll meet your private guide and head to Valle delle Ferriere Natural Reserve (Riserva Statale Valle delle Ferriere). When you arrive, begin your round-trip walking tour of this beautiful piece of Southern Italy, home to a river and views over the Amalfi Coast. Climb up a flight of stairs, cross the main stream, and follow a path that gradually descends through the forest toward the medieval village of Pontone. From here, a medieval mule track curves down toward Amalfi, amid lemon groves and maquis shrubs, with nice views over the valley. Return to Amalfi to end your tour.

Memorable scenic tour
It was the perfect combination of informative and adventurous and a great way to see some of the stunning natural and historic sites in the area. Our guide was fantastic and so thoughtful! Will remember this tour forever. Be sure to wear good sneakers with grip.. you will climb lots of steps! Our legs were shaking by the end and we are in pretty good shape… but it is so worth it!

Special nature walk in Amalfi
We had an amazing trip with Vincenzo. He collected us at the base of the steps at the Cathedral in Amalfi and we walked all the way to the most amazing nature reserve and back again. It was about an 8km walk and it took a little over 4 hours. It’s a lot of stairs to climb up and ultimately go down (something over 4,000 stairs in total). Do not attempt this if that causes you a problem. You need some hiking shoes or some sturdy trainers - flip flops or sandals will not be good for this as you could hurt yourself. The photo opportunities are great and Vincenzo knew exactly where to stop, sometimes in ruins along the pathway, sometimes near waterfalls, sometimes just on the path itself. He took some great pictures of us. The views and the scenery generally are quite stunning at times and Vincenzo was very chatty and knowledgeable, helping us to enjoy everything. The nature reserve with its spectacular waterfalls was phenomenal and perfectly topped off the experience. Vincenzo went the extra mile there, taking us to places not easily accessible and allowing us to enjoy the magnificence of the natural environment. We then walked back, with a lot of stairs especially at the end, to Amalfi. We had a thoroughly enjoyable time.

Vincenzo Giordano is a must request guide! From the moment we met at the Cathedral steps in Amalfi he made the entire experience an incredible memory - connecting local history with his knowledge of all the breathtaking views at every point in the hike. Grazie mille! Pam & Mark

The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Tour: Amalfi Valle delle Ferriere Nature Reserve Walking Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Amalfi.
How much does Private Tour: Amalfi Valle delle Ferriere Nature Reserve Walking Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $176 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Amalfi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Tour: Amalfi Valle delle Ferriere Nature Reserve Walking Tour take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Amalfi is not rushed.
Is Private Tour: Amalfi Valle delle Ferriere Nature Reserve Walking Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 76 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 22 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Amalfi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Tour: Amalfi Valle delle Ferriere Nature Reserve Walking Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Tour: Amalfi Valle delle Ferriere Nature Reserve Walking Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Tour: Amalfi Valle delle Ferriere Nature Reserve Walking Tour?
+
Around 8 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Amalfi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Amalfi and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Tour: Amalfi Valle delle Ferriere Nature Reserve Walking Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Amalfi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Amalfi?
+
On Outty we rank every Amalfi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Hands-On Cooking Class & Farmhouse Tour on the Amalfi Coast, Amalfi Coast Boat Rental: Explore, Swim, and Relax at Your Pace, Amalfi: Kayak-Snorkeling to Pandora Cave Hidden Beach & Aperitif. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Amalfi?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Amalfi?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
