Cairo and Nile Cruise
Absolutely brilliant sight-seeing trip with Reflections Travel (found through Tripadviser, based in Luxor). Package did not include international flights but these were easy to book separately with EGYPTAIR. All transfers from/to airports + internal flights, were included. Hotel accommodation was 5* as was the Nile cruise (Kahila). The tours included the main attractions for Cairo and the Nile Cruise (unlike many other packages in which the tours on the cruise were optional extras). The price was good value. We had a busy full day in Cairo (2 nights) including Giza pyramids, the Sphinx, Egyptian museum with our guide, Bilan, who was very knowledgeable and spoke very good English. (Having a guide appears to be essential not only for their knowledge in Egyptology but also for their advice on tipping and protection from excessive badgering from locals). Our flight to Luxor was 6am(!) on the third day. We were met by our guide for the day at the airport and taken to Karnak temple, then Luxor temple before checking in at our cruise boat before lunch. Again, the guide was a very knowledge and highly trained Egyptologist. Once on the boat, we met with Roshdy Khodery, our guide for the rest of our cruise. Roshdy speaks very good English, is a very knowledgeable and experienced Egyptologist and is very easy to talk to, with a good sense of humour. Being November, the cruise was by no means fully booked, and we were fortunate (as with our previous guides) that Roshdy was solely looking after our small group of four. He looked after us very well throughout, discussing the daily itinerary with as well as optional extras. As regards the latter, we did do a couple of optional extras (Abu Simbel temple - 3-4 hour drive, setting off at 4am and a small boat trip up to a Nubian village on the other side of the river). Both were well worthwhile and we never felt any undue pressure to agree to these. Included in the itinerary were: The Valley of the Kings (going into 3 tombs), Hatshepsut temple, Colossi of Memnon (2nd day, while still docked in Luxor) Edfu and Kom Ombo temples. (3rd day further up the Nile) Unfinished Obelisk, Temple of Philae and High Aswan Dam (scheduled for 4th day, whilst in Aswan but we went to Abu Simbel temple on the 4th day instead and went to these Aswan sights on the 5th before flying back to Cairo) Back in Cairo, we were met and transferred to Le Passage, a 5* hotel at the airport. We could have done another morning of sight-seeing in Cairo, which Roshdy would have arranged but decided to relax at the hotel before our flight back to Heathrow in the afternoon. Check out was 12 noon but the hotel reception were happy for us to use our rooms until 2pm. All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable trip with Reflections Travel and very good tour guides, especially our main tour guide, Roshdy.

Viking Cruises Pharaohs and Pyramids tour is a must!
We just returned from the best trip of our life! It was the Viking Cruises Pharaohs and Pyramids Tour from October 27 to November 7 on the Aton The sites that we saw were expertly chosen. One day to the other was " the highlight of the trip". The accommodations at the Fairmont and the Intercontinental in Cairo were fabulous. The Aton was a wonderful river boat, very clean with spacious rooms, fine dining and excellent service. Our cruise director Ana was so kind and enthusiastic. Our room steward Hassan kept everything meticulously clean and tidy. Our desk agent Mustafa went the extra mile to assist us with anything and everything. The three guides, Amin, Manal and Hassan were experts. Hassan was with us throughout our trip. Not only was he a respected archeologist and Egyptologist, but he shared his personal favorites with us at each stop. He watched out for us. Hassan was so enthusiastic about the sites we saw and Egypt in general. He could not have done a better job showing us his country! At the airport our Viking representative, Girgis Nabil, met us right at the van and helped us tremendously with navigating the complicated check in. He kept us informed every step of the way and didn't let anyone "crowd us out" in lines. In all, Viking has come through yet again with wonderful accommodations, service, and sites. I highly recommend this tour!

Reflection Travel delivers with service
Our 8 day/7 night Pyramids and Nile Cruise with Reflections Travel was so well planned and exceeded all expectations. We were met at all airports and the hotels in Cairo were excellent. We always had a driver with our guide which made it so much easier to converse. The cruise on the Nile was on the Monte Carlo where service and food were plentiful. Worth noting, drinks were extra and the ship lacks USB ports, if that is important to you for charging your devices. We were in constanta communication with WhatsApp. Our guide in Cairo, Maior (I believe), did a great job taking us to the pyramids, museum and Coptic area. It was a full day, but we covered the main attractions with enough time at each. Abdo, our Nile cruise guide was absolutely amazing with excellent English. His knowledge of Egyptian history was incredible and his enthusiasm for sharing was infectious. He hit all the high points at each site plus more. We were given ample time to explore on our own if we wanted. He also answered all our questions and gave us insight into Egypt’s relationship with its neighbors. Very enlightening. And for those who are questioning whether Egypt is a safe place to be during these troubling times, let me just say that we always felt safe. Don’t pass this up.

Great trip, lots to see and experience.
The Pyramids at Giza were incredible. The temple Deir El Bahri, built for Queen/Pharoah Hatseptsut, was a must see! The Nile cruise was fascinating and our private guide, Abdo, was incredibly knowledgeable. Our trip to the Nubian village, which was an additional cost option, was well worth the money. The Nubian village was the only place that we saw Nile crocodiles. Two things to be aware of regarding the Nile cruise ship, ours did not have USB and Wi-Fi was not free. People in America should all experience travelling by car in Cairo as well as Luxor and Aswan, where traffic lanes are only a suggestion and honking is constant. The history, sites, and culture of the Egyptian people are worth travelling to Egypt.

Private Tour: 7 Nights Pyramids & Nile Cruise +Flights from Cairo: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cairo.
How much does Private Tour: 7 Nights Pyramids & Nile Cruise +Flights from Cairo cost?
+
Prices start at $700 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cairo usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Tour: 7 Nights Pyramids & Nile Cruise +Flights from Cairo take?
+
Plan for about 192 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cairo is not rushed.
Is Private Tour: 7 Nights Pyramids & Nile Cruise +Flights from Cairo worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 83 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 157 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cairo, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Tour: 7 Nights Pyramids & Nile Cruise +Flights from Cairo?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Tour: 7 Nights Pyramids & Nile Cruise +Flights from Cairo suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 192-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Tour: 7 Nights Pyramids & Nile Cruise +Flights from Cairo?
+
Around 55 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cairo can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cairo and add a light layer if any part of the 192-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Tour: 7 Nights Pyramids & Nile Cruise +Flights from Cairo start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cairo within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Cairo?
+
On Outty we rank every Cairo experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include All-in-One Giza Tour, inside Pyramid, sphinx, Camel ride & lunch, VIP Private Giza Pyramids, Sphinx Tour –Inside the Pyramids&More, Best of Cairo Private Giza Pyramids, Sphinx and Grand Museum Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cairo?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cairo?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
