    Great tour in three hours.

Our guide Charlotte was punctual and gave us a good briefing of the natural history of the area we were about to explore and how people got around once they arrived. This helped us better understand the function of the runic stones. It was a well paced tour and we enjoyed the different aspects of the Swedish countryside. CHarlotte made suggestions for our afternoon activities and even dropped us off at the Stockholm History Museum, which further enhanced what we had seen on the tour.

    An excellent tour

We signed up for this small group tour, which turned out to be a private tour for us. Karl was our guide and he was absolutely excellent. He was very knowledgeable and we learned a lot about the Viking history of Sweden, a topic we knew very little about.. Karl even added a couple of extra things for us to see on our tour and we especially enjoyed Sigatuna (not sure if I spelled it correctly), which was a very cute town. We would recommend this tour.

Highly professional guide, Interesting historical tour

After several days of walking tours, I was very glad to have a private tour with Charlotte. The company was very communicative prior to the tour regarding the meeting place given that Stockholm has several piers. Charlotte arrived promptly and we were off to explore the rune stones in the countryside. My husband had a particular interest in the topic as he has studied the native southwest US petroglyphs as a museum docent. Our guide was clearly highly educated and articulate in explaining the difference between the prevailing opinion of Vikings and who the people actually were. On our return to the city, Charlotte was kind enough to offer us a drop off in the museum area so we could finish our day seeing the Vasa as we had hoped might be possible. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Sweden History Tours as an organized and reputable company and Charlotte as an excellent guide.

    Tremendous Experience

Our Guide, Jonathan, was excellent! He was extremely knowledgeable about the Vikings and their culture. The exchange of information and the depth of his knowledge shined as we asked question after question for the duration of the tour. This is a highly recommended guide and tour when in the Stockholm area.

Response from the operator: Hi, Jonathan here. Thanks for this beautiful review and I'm happy to se that you're as pleased with this tour as I was. I had a lot of fun showing you around the Runic Kingdom. You had a lot of good questions and are excact the type of people I hope to get on this tour.

Private Tour: 3h Viking History from Stockholm to Runic Kingdom: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Stockholm.

How much does Private Tour: 3h Viking History from Stockholm to Runic Kingdom cost?

    +

Prices start at $308 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Stockholm usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Tour: 3h Viking History from Stockholm to Runic Kingdom take?

    +

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Stockholm is not rushed.

Is Private Tour: 3h Viking History from Stockholm to Runic Kingdom worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 61 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 23 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Stockholm, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Tour: 3h Viking History from Stockholm to Runic Kingdom?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Tour: 3h Viking History from Stockholm to Runic Kingdom suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Tour: 3h Viking History from Stockholm to Runic Kingdom?

    +

Around 8 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Stockholm can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Stockholm and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Tour: 3h Viking History from Stockholm to Runic Kingdom start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Stockholm within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Stockholm?

    +

On Outty we rank every Stockholm experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Stockholm: Walking Tour of the Old Town, Best of Stockholm: Small Group Walking Tour (Max 10, 3 Hours), Vasa Museum Guided Tour, Including Ticket & Guide. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Stockholm?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Stockholm?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
