Yut is the #1 best guide

Yut was an incredible tour guide, giving excellent information on Thai history, Buddhism practices, and local culture. His personal background, being from a small Karen village in north Thailand, gave his stories and teachings a unique perspective that was very different from our perception of Thai culture up into that point in our trip which had focused more on City-life. Yut was kind, attentive, respectful, and passionate about Thai culture. He also knew where to take the best photos. Makes sure to request him for the tour! The tour itself complemented our tour guide. First a stop by the amazing, Wachirathan Waterfall. Then two incredible hikes: Kew Mae Pan and Pha Dok Sieo. The first showcased the upper elevaations, cloud rain forest and subalpine meadow and had some breathtaking views. The second highlighted the lower elevation forests and a spectacular waterfall. Coffee with the local Karen tribe at the end was the cherry on top and Yut’s connection with another local Karen trail guide, Book, was great.

    Great trip with Mr. Tong

Had a great day trip with Mr. Tong, trekking in Doi Inthanon National Park. He was a good driver, great conversationalist, and always made sure we were comfortable and getting the photos we wanted. He also introduced us to some great Northern Thai food.

    Perfect in every aspect

Fantastic tour! Mr. Tonk, my guide, driver, photographer (and, as he liked to add, „bodyguard“ 😉) for the day, was absolutely brilliant - from the on-time pick-up (in a very spacious and comfortable van), to all of the interesting information he shared and, of course, the stunning places he took me to. I also really appreciated Mr. Tonk’s and the tour operator‘s flexibility in adapting the tour itinerary slightly so that we were able to make an additional stop at the Twin Pagodas. Many thanks also to the two local guides who accompanied us on the hiking trails - very knowledgeable about their surroundings and if you are lucky, they might even teach you some magic tricks using only mother nature‘s tools 😉 Lunch at the local restaurant was also delicious, so was the coffee I got to try at Mae Klang Luang village. As for the trails themselves, they are not particularly difficult to hike, although I do recommend to be in good condition because hiking them both the same day does take some energy (it is absolutely worth it though - both trails are, in different ways, very scenic and memorable). Finally, one last thing to note - I have never had a guide who took as many amazing photos as Mr. Tonk. He will make sure you will leave this tour not just with great memories, but with a cameraroll full of perfect portrait shots! Highly recommended - without a doubt one of favorite travel experiences in Thailand thus far.

    Tong is the best guide

Today my husband and I went on a full-day private tour with Tong to Doi Inthanon. You should book this tour with him if you like 1) snacks and drinks included, 2) photographs in all the best spots with wide angle and portrait mode, 3) funny jokes and fun facts about Thailand, 4) interesting conversation about current events and political climate and economy, 5) thoughtful touches like picking us up from the other end of the lunch market after we walked the length of it and bringing TP + hand sanitizer for the toilet breaks. Mr Tong helped me enjoy a delicious lunch between our treks by ensuring the food we ordered was safe for my gluten sensitivity. He suggested what I ordered and communicated thoroughly with the restaurant staff, observing them to make sure it was done correctly - if you had a food allergy, you know how much psychological safety this brings, especially traveling abroad when you don’t read the language. The local guide Mr Cher (sorry if I misspelled) gave us so many magical moments by showing us birds and butterflies, and performing different funny tricks with leaves (making a bird call, making a thunder clap, and a leaf pinwheel). This duo was the perfect tour guide team for our honeymoon trip to Chiang Mai nature.

Amazing tour with our excellent guide Tong!

Our tour with Tong was the highlight of our trip to Chiang Mai. He was highly attentive, kind, and entertaining throughout the trip. We learned so much about Thailand and appreciated his fun energy and sense of humor. His English is excellent. We especially appreciated his help communicating with restaurant staff to accommodate my wife’s gluten allergy. We had an amazing time on the tour and highly recommend our tour guide to anyone!

Private Tour 2 Difference Trails Trekking at Doi Inthanon National Park: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Chiang Mai.

How much does Private Tour 2 Difference Trails Trekking at Doi Inthanon National Park cost?

    +

Prices start at $147 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Chiang Mai usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Tour 2 Difference Trails Trekking at Doi Inthanon National Park take?

    +

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Chiang Mai is not rushed.

Is Private Tour 2 Difference Trails Trekking at Doi Inthanon National Park worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 74 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 23 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Chiang Mai, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Tour 2 Difference Trails Trekking at Doi Inthanon National Park?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Tour 2 Difference Trails Trekking at Doi Inthanon National Park suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Tour 2 Difference Trails Trekking at Doi Inthanon National Park?

    +

Around 8 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Chiang Mai can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Chiang Mai and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Tour 2 Difference Trails Trekking at Doi Inthanon National Park start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Chiang Mai within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Chiang Mai?

    +

On Outty we rank every Chiang Mai experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Half-Day Thai Cooking Class at Organic Farm in Chiang Mai, Full Day Thai Cooking at Farm (Chiang Mai), Thai and Akha Cooking Class in Chiang Mai. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Chiang Mai?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Chiang Mai?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
