Discover the tunnels and grottoes within Thuy Son, the only one of the five Marble Mountains that’s open to travelers. Marvel at the Buddhist temples carved into the rock, then head to the hilltop overlook for awe-inspiring views of the city. Join a guided tour to learn more about the history of the mountains. To reach the summit, take the elevator or climb the stairs; if you choose to do the latter, be very careful as the marble steps tend to be slippery. Visit early in the morning or later in the day to escape the midday heat and beat the crowds.

This was an absolutely fun day! We saw lots, had amazing guides in Tommy and Destiny and overall really enjoyed the tour! Coffee was terrific and lunch was sooooo good! This tour is a must do! Tommydao tours was reliable and very enjoyable and informative. Can’t say enough about this tour!

Our tour with Tommy Dao was PERFECT!!
Tommy Dao Tours provided our group of two senior couples with a perfectly planned and executed excursion from Danang's Tien Sa port to the historic town of Hoi An. We met Tommy, our guide Lam and our driver outside the gate of the commercial port of Danang. Owner Tommy was so cheerful and outgoing that we immediately felt we made a great decision to tour with his company. After saying good bye to Tommy we were on our way to Hoi An which dates back to the 16th century, but was spared destruction during the war. When we arrived in the thriving town Lam described the long history of the “village” with a population of about 120,000 - which is a village compared to Vietnamese cities with millions of residents. Our first stop was at Thang Loi Fine Arts Company. This stop was a showcase of beautiful embroidery, custom clothing, silk textile production, and other fine arts and crafts. Sometimes visits to similar facilities meant annoying high pressured sales people, but that was not the case here. Lam chose this location wisely because we learned how the items were produced and we were not pressured to purchase of an item. We appreciated seeing the variety of beautiful products being produced in Hoi An. After Lam presented us with flowers for Women’s Day we explored several of the historic structures of Hoi An. We stopped at the Japanese Bridge, explore the Le Tan Ky Merchant Heritage House, and rested at the Hoi Quan Phuc Kien while Lam explained the history and culture of one of the largest 16th century structures in Hoi An. We then stopped for a traditional Vietnamese lunch at the Restaurant Bale Well. After lunch we drove back to the Danang area where Lam showed us a string of luxurious beachfront resorts and the spacious beaches of Danang. We stopped at a large marble statue showroom before taking a glass elevator to the summit of one of the Marble Mountains where we had expansive views of the city. Everywhere we looked we saw construction and signs of prosperity. The next stop was at the Dragon Bridge which was opened to traffic in 2013 and was another example of Danang’s emergence. Our final stop was at the large Lady Buddha which towers over Danang. The mountain top complex included the Bai Dinh Pagoda and a collection of large marble statues. As an example of the exceptional service of Tommy Dao Tours, Tommy sent photos of the Lady Buddha showing how the statue is lighted at night and the weekend light show at the Dragon Bridge, along with many photos that Lam took during our tour. Without a doubt we thought that Danang was the most surprising port call of our cruise. Danang’s progressive planning effort and its ambitious construction program was evident throughout the day. Lam and Tommy provided a very diverse and eye-opening tour of their region.

Great tour and excellent guide.
We had a superb tour with Vi, a young vietnamese woman and very competent guide from Tommy tours. She brought us first to see the giant Lady Buddha near Danang and then we went up the marble mountains to admire the temples along the stairs et also in a great grotto. Our guide all the way gave us very interesting facts. Then we went to Hoi An where we had a delicious 8 courses meal. Then Vi took us to visit the old town of Hoi An witch is a Unesco heritage city. We will always keep fabulous memories of our tour and of our excellent and very nice guide.

Excellent Tour
Our cruise ship (Seabourn Ovation) visited Da Nang in January. We prefer private tours and after a bit of research and correspondence we decided to use the service provided by Tommy Dao Tours He provided clear and concise information on what would be included and our guide Lap was waiting for us (4 people) at the port gate. Lap was extremely polite, courteous and knowledgeable and ensured we gained an insight into Vietnam and had a great days tour. The tour of the ancient city of Hoi An was the highlight of the day and should not be missed. If you are arriving at the cruise port I have no hesitation in recommending Tommy Dao Tours.
