2 1/2 days Cairo/Giza with a Knowledgable and Personable Guide
Our primary destination in Egypt was Luxor, and we used Luxor Travels to also arrange our Cairo itinerary. Day one was Saqqara/Memphis/Giza. Giza is of course the big draw, but Saqqara/Memphis is not to be missed. And when in Giza, be sure to see the funeral boat display. Well worth the cost of ticket. Day two was Egyptian Museum, Citadel, Coptic Cairo, and the Bazaar. Recommend if you have a choice to do the Egyptian Museum after seeing Luxor and Giza. It helps to give needed context to what is an incredible jumble of artifacts in the museum. We understood what we were seeing so much better because we had seen Luxor/Giza. And The Abu Serga Church and Ben-Ezra Synagogue in Coptic Cairo are not to be missed. Research those before you go to better understand the historical significance. Last half day was Islamic Cairo. We had a long leisurely stroll down Moez Ldin Allah Al Fatima street. The architecture and the street life inside the old city walls were super. Our guide for all 2 ½ days was Eman Mohammed. She is very knowledgeable of the antiquity areas of Giza and Saqqara/Memphis, and equally so for the Cairo city sites, sharing with us a lot of history and details you don’t find in the guidebooks. And she did an excellent job understanding what we enjoyed seeing and what to us was less important, and paced the days so that they were full, but not rushed. Also to be noted was the overall coordination of drivers and airport transfers that Rageb/Luxor Travels provided. Greatly simplified our planning. Great sites, and excellent service.
Response from the operator: Dear valued guests, Thank you so much for your extensive feedback, and of course for trusting us with arranging your tours in Egypt. It was our pleasure to help you with the ideal personalized itinerary, and so we are delighted to hear you were pleased with the results and that we were able to contribute to an unforgettable memory! We would love having you back and we wish you all the best! Sincerely, Ragab El Motgalye

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cairo.
How much does Private The Best of monuments of Giza and Cairo in 2 Days cost?
+
Prices start at $200 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cairo usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private The Best of monuments of Giza and Cairo in 2 Days take?
+
Plan for about 48 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cairo is not rushed.
Is Private The Best of monuments of Giza and Cairo in 2 Days worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 62 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 2 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cairo, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private The Best of monuments of Giza and Cairo in 2 Days?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private The Best of monuments of Giza and Cairo in 2 Days suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 48-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private The Best of monuments of Giza and Cairo in 2 Days?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cairo can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cairo and add a light layer if any part of the 48-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private The Best of monuments of Giza and Cairo in 2 Days start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cairo within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Cairo?
+
On Outty we rank every Cairo experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include All-in-One Giza Tour, inside Pyramid, sphinx, Camel ride & lunch, VIP Private Giza Pyramids, Sphinx Tour –Inside the Pyramids&More, Best of Cairo Private Giza Pyramids, Sphinx and Grand Museum Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cairo?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cairo?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
