A Wonderful Olive Oil Tasting Experience in Córdoba
We had an excellent evening olive oil tasting with Mari Carmen at La Oleoteca de Córdoba. It was such a fun, intimate, and educational experience! Mari Carmen shared fascinating background about the olives of the Córdoba region, the harvest, and process of producing olive oil. We learned how to taste and identify the differences between various olive oils, and came away with a whole new appreciation for what goes into producing great extra virgin olive oil. The atmosphere was charming and welcoming. The tapas, dinner, and local wine were absolutely delicious. Everything felt authentic, relaxed, and thoughtfully presented. Mari Carmen offers tastings in her shop, as well as unique experiences at a local olive farm, a wonderful way to experience the olive growing culture of Andalucía. Highly recommend La Oleoteca de Córdoba and Mari Carmen! If you love food, wine, olive oil, or simply enjoy learning something new while traveling, this is a wonderful experience to add to your Córdoba itinerary.

Good experience if you are interested in olive oil
If you like olive oil and want to know more this is a great way of finding out. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and the experience lasted around 1 hour as there was 2 of us. We learned how olive oil is manufactured today and how to taste the olive oil and assess its quality. We tasted around 10 different olive oils in total.

A lovely little find. Who knew there was so, so much variety of olive oil. The owner is lovely and very knowledgeable about olive oils. A lovely little find in Cordoba and a great place to pick up a couple of bottles of unique olive oils (after sampling them of course!).

Who knew? Now we are educated consumers of delicious olive oil.
Do this!! Celia was an excellent guide through the intricacies of olive oil. She explained both theory ( how olives are grown, harvested & milled), and practice (as we tasted 5 varieties of oils). The small shop where we tasted has lots of varieties of oils & we bought several with tips from Celia. A very fun & educational experience.
