Using a Whisky Thief, be the first to draw samples from barrels that are upcoming releases, never before sampled by the public. Here you will see hundreds of barrels racked to the ceiling and you will have the opportunity to marry your own whisky from 5 single malt casks. Learn the fine art of distillation, get your hands dirty and sample Gins, Vodka, Whisky, Rum and Liqueurs. In the main distillation room, you can sample the new make direct from the still and even stir a mash. Lunch will be served here in the Distillery Loft - Locally catered individual options for each tour.

120 minutes here · Admission included

  3. Killara Distillery

One of the newest distilleries on the scene and owner, Kristy Lark is of local distiller heritage. Here you will meet and chat with Kristy and her distiller team. You will be greeted with a beautiful Lavender Gin or other fitting beverages to reflect the days weather. You will sample incredible Whiskies, Gins, and Liqueurs. Our favourite sample is exclusive to you, the "Infinity Barrel". Killara's original Whisky is in the barrel and every cask produced has a portion added to that barrel, never going below 1/3. Great day on Bruny

6 out of 5. This was a fantastic tour. Lee knew his subject, wasn’t fazed by idiot questions or opinions. This gentleman is an asset to the company. Lee talked on a wide & varied range of topics. Very knowledgeable of Bruny Island imparting a vast amount of information to all on board. The tour covered a wide range of Bruny Island giving an in-depth overview of this part of Tassie. We were very well looked after, morning tea, lunch & afternoon tea were all exceptional. Too much to say here of just how good we enjoyed this day out with a great guide. On an overcast day Lee even found us a White Wallaby to photograph, Dave didn’t for his group. 👍 (Liz enjoyed it too).

A great day exploring the best of Tassie's distilleries!

My husband and I along with some friends did this tour. From the outset, everything was well organised and professional, with a personal feel. The tour guide had a great rapport with all the distillery owners, along with a great knowledge himself of the distillery process. He also had a great sense of humour, many laughs were shared through the day. We were able to taste a wide range of spirits, from vodka, whisky, gin, liqueurs and more whisky. We were even able to do some tastings direct from an oak barrel using a syphon to gather our individual tastes. To be honest, I am not usually a spirits drinker, but a whole new appreciation started this day and we may have taken home more than one bottle! My personal favourite was a unique bush liqueur. I would recommend this tour for both a spirits lover and newbie alike.

Response from the operator: Thank you for the amazing Review. I am passionate about the Distilling industry in Tasmania and know most of the 100+ distilleries managers and owners by name. I have and continue to serve Whisky, Gin, Vodka and Liquor at events in Hobart for several distilleries and also sit tasting panels. Our tours are special to anything you may have attended before - Pull your own sample, be part of a tasting panel, purchase one off bottles that you fill yourself and have them personably labelled. Hope to see you again very soon.

Taking in Tassie's beauty, tastings and Christmas shopping ticked off. A great day out.

I can't recommend this tour enough. It was a fabulous not too long of a day with friends. There's quite a few hidden gem quality distillery's in Tasmania and we got to see whiskey being made, tastings from the barrell, as well as liqueurs. Our hosts Craig and Dave were great fun and took interest in getting to know us as well. Value for money and jam packed yet there was time to take in Tassie's beauty. Bonus for me - I got a few Xmas presents ticked off along the way. Thanks guys and maybe we can do this again sometime.

Response from the operator: Your welcome - The Distilleries we visit are all very welcoming and passionate about what they produce. So many samples to try and enjoy. See you next time.

+

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
