Second time visiting Barcelona and this was honestly one of the highlights of the trip

The tapas were great, the wine spots felt really local, and the guide made the whole evening super easy and fun without feeling touristy. We ended up discovering places we would’ve never found on our own. Definitely a really good way to spend a night in the city.

Response from the operator: Thank you for your kind words! We’re delighted that you had such a great evening and that the tour felt local and genuine. It’s wonderful to hear that you discovered hidden gems and enjoyed a relaxed, non-touristy experience. We really appreciate your recommendation 😊

    Poor experience I

Normally I am pretty relaxed but I have to say this was way below the standards we were expecting. Normally I am pretty relaxed but I have to say this was way below the standards we were expecting. It felt as though Guillaume really took us to a few random tapas bars which felt very average and we ate very standard tapas food that we could have ordered ourselves. I was surprised when we were asked what we wanted to eat and asked to order off a menu. It was obvious that nothing was pre-arranged or pre-booked. Nothing about the tour felt unique or tailored and felt we could have just walked around and found plaes like the ones we visited ourselves. We have done food tours in many cities before and guides have taken us to unique places, we tried new and interesting foods and had good insight from the guide - this felt like a random walk to some average places. If I had paid £200-300 for 4 of us then I wouldn’t complain but I paid over £500 for a special birthday (my wife’s 50th) and this was not good. I booked this in good faith and am very disappointed as is my wife whose 50th birthday we are celebrating. Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are genuinely sorry to hear that the experience did not meet your expectations, especially given the special occasion you were celebrating. That said, we would like to clarify a few important points for future readers. Our tours are intentionally designed without a fixed route, pre-set menus, or pre-booked stops. Unlike more standardised experiences, our approach is to adapt in real time to each group’s preferences, allowing for a more flexible and personalised experience based on what guests feel like eating and exploring in the moment. This is, in fact, one of the aspects that many of our clients value most. In your case, the guide did actively take your preferences into account throughout the tour. For example, the final stop was specifically chosen as a venue for croquettes after your children expressed particular enthusiasm for this dish. We would also like to mention, respectfully, that the tour started later than scheduled due to a delay in your arrival. As communicated in advance, extending the full duration was not possible due to prior commitments; however, the guide still extended the experience beyond the planned end time as a gesture of goodwill. Finally, we would like to highlight that we remained in contact throughout and after the experience, making every effort to assist promptly and professionally, what we did. We fully respect your opinion, but we do feel it is important to provide this context so that future guests have a complete and accurate understanding of how our experiences are designed and delivered. Kind regards, Yannat Travel team

Disappointed not worth the money spent

Extremely disorganized. walking several miles aimlessly without reservations being turned away by restaurants. Disappointing and not worth the miney spent. The guide drank wine and ate more than we did at our expense.. We are an older couple age 72 and 68. She walks with a cane. We had to stand outside in the rain waiting for tables and when we were deluned a table had to walk several mikes out in the rain. We were expecting a car to drive us to restauranrs and have reservations.

Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are truly sorry to hear that this experience did not meet your expectations. After receiving your review, we spoke directly with the guide to fully understand what happened during the tour. While we regret that you were not satisfied, we would like to clarify a few important points to avoid any misunderstandings for future guests. First of all, in Spain traditional tapas tours do not operate with restaurant reservations. Tapas bars work on a walk-in basis, and reservations are generally accepted only for full-service seated dinners, not for tapas experiences. For this reason, the guide had carefully planned the route in advance, selecting some of the best and most authentic tapas bars located as close as possible to your hotel, specifically to minimize walking. Based on the itinerary shared by the guide, the total walking distance was approximately 1.5 km (20 minutes in total, spread across the entire tour, of a leisurely and pleasant walk on a tour lasting more than 3 hours in total). The tour was designed to be relaxed and paced accordingly. Regarding transportation, taxi or private car service is not included in this tour, as clearly stated in the tour description. The experience is intended to be a guided walking tapas tour, as described We would also like to clarify that, according to the guide, the guest was not using a cane but was instead supported by an umbrella. Nevertheless, we understand that mobility and comfort are very important, and we regret if the experience felt physically demanding. Our guides are always willing to help and even modify the tour on the fly, as long as customers let them know their circumstances before the tour or even during it, which did not happen. Finally, we are very sorry that the weather conditions were unfavorable. Unfortunately, weather is beyond our control, and although rain can certainly impact the personal enjoyment for some people, our tours run rain or shine, as we always do our best to ensure a great experience regardless of the weather. That said, we sincerely regret that the tour did not meet your previous expectations and appreciate your feedback, which we take seriously as we continuously strive to improve our services.

Private Tapas Tour in Barcelona with local guide: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Barcelona.

How much does Private Tapas Tour in Barcelona with local guide cost?

    +

Prices start at $90 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Barcelona usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Tapas Tour in Barcelona with local guide take?

    +

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Barcelona is not rushed.

Is Private Tapas Tour in Barcelona with local guide worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 51 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.1/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Barcelona, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Tapas Tour in Barcelona with local guide?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Tapas Tour in Barcelona with local guide suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Tapas Tour in Barcelona with local guide?

    +

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Barcelona can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Barcelona and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Tapas Tour in Barcelona with local guide start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Barcelona within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Barcelona?

    +

Barcelona's Gaudí sites are capacity-limited and the official timed tickets go first, so most of the market is resellers with a guide attached. We weight those heavily on whether the guide is an architecture specialist. Beyond Gaudí, the tapas crawls in Gràcia and the Montserrat day trips carry the highest rankings in the city. On Outty we rank every Barcelona experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Gràcia Tapas and Vermouth Crawl, Costa Brava Tour: Kayak, Snorkel & Cliff Jump from Barcelona, Costa Brava Tour: Kayak, Snorkel, Cliff Jump & lunch Small Group. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Barcelona?

    +

May, June, September and October. Sagrada Família light is best mid-morning. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Barcelona?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
