Kids second surf lesson

Kids wanted to surf whilst we were in Alvor this year again so we booked them a private surf lesson. they had only has one previous lesson the previous year so i wasn't sure how they would do and they did great. Their instructor Romana was brilliant with them and very friendly and patient. My oldest daughter (8y) loved it and wanted to have more lessons but unfortunately her lesson was on the last day we were in this area so we couldn't book her more lessons, however next year we will look into her having more lessons whilst we are there. Her brother who is (6y) also really liked it and wants to do it again next year. The conditions were great for them although a bit more windy than the previous year but they did really well. They had their lesson at 4pm during low tide however it did rise a fair bit by the end of their lesson and my daughter actually really enjoyed it more towards the end. They will be back for another lesson next year for sure.

The surfing class was great for beginners. Wetsuits and boards were provided, which made everything easy and convenient. The instructor was friendly, patient, and very knowledgeable. Overall, a positive and enjoyable experience.

We had the best time ever!

My husband and I had the best time doing a private lesson! It was the highlight to our trip, and some of the most fun we’ve ever had on the water. Highly highly recommend this experience!

Wonderful learning experience

Our daughter had a wonderful time learning to surf! Her instructor spoke English and was very attentive. We had no concerns and only wished the water had been warmer for us to swim some as well!

Private Surf Lesson for 2

Everyone at the club is super friendly and helpful. We booked a private lesson for our kids (13 and 15) but on the day my husband was able to join them in the lesson for free (he can already surf so was more of an extra support!!!). Daniel was a great instructor and the kids had a brilliant time! This is our second time taking a surf lesson with Portimao Surf Clube and once again we can highly recommend! Great service! x

Private Surfing Lesson at Praia da Rocha: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Portimao.

How much does Private Surfing Lesson at Praia da Rocha cost?

+

Prices start at $115 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Portimao usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Surfing Lesson at Praia da Rocha take?

+

Plan for about 1.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Portimao is not rushed.

Is Private Surfing Lesson at Praia da Rocha worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 57 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 11 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Portimao, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Surfing Lesson at Praia da Rocha?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Surfing Lesson at Praia da Rocha suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 5. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 1.5-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Private Surfing Lesson at Praia da Rocha?

+

Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Portimao can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Portimao and add a light layer if any part of the 1.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Surfing Lesson at Praia da Rocha start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Portimao within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Portimao?

+

On Outty we rank every Portimao experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Exclusive Small Group Kayak Tour to Benagil Caves with 4K Photos, Kayak tour to Benagil Cave and guided by local native, Boat Trip to the Benagil Caves from Armação de Pêra. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Portimao?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Portimao?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
