    Excellent experience!

Andy was an excellent instructor - both my daughter and I got up on our first try! - and we had a blast! Minimal shore instruction, we got in the water and learned by doing and Andy made it very easy. Would do this again without question. Note they contact you the day-of with a location - I wasn’t expecting that and initially was confused - but they pick the beach based on the day’s weather and tides to give an optimal experience. Worked out so well in our favor and we had a beach almost completely to ourselves!

Unforgettable experience with incredible and knowledgeable instructors!

We had such a great experience that I booked an advanced second lesson for my son. For the first lesson, Andy helped me and my son from not knowing anything about surfing to be able to learn how to stand in the board to surfing for two full hours. We were in the water within the first 20 minutes so it is well worth it. Also, the location that he used was perfect for beginners, it helped us learn how to surf without being intimidated. As the time passed by and we kept surfing, we got bigger waves which made it super fun since we were more comfortable using the board. For the advanced lesson, my son had Mike as the instructor. He had so much fun and was able to shred many waves! The location that Mike used had bigger waves and the beach wasn’t crowded which worked perfect! Mike was always there instructing and encouraging him. Both Mike and Andy are great people and you will 100% have a safe and fun time. I trusted them and as a result, we are bringing back lifetime memories with us. If you want to learn how to surf or want to have a fun experience with your family, please book the lesson with them. You will create unforgettable memories! Also, they communicate very well. Give them a call and they will suggest the best time/date to go. Highly recommended!

Absolutely amazing - we could not have asked for more!

Absolutely amazing! Instructor Andy was fantastic, he had two prairie kids with zero experience up and surfing on their first try - I honestly couldn't believe it. They caught tons of waves and had a blast. Andy was friendly, patient and gave them so much confidence - we could not have asked for more. We had a great time on Oahu, but the 808 Surf School was the highlight of our trip! Thanks so much and they can't wait to come back.

    Had a great time!

We had a lot of fun learning to surf with Jon. He was very calm and helpful. It was a pleasant surprise to get GoPro photos of us on the boards!

    Great expirience!

My husband and I got these lessons for our 10 year anniversary and we loved our surf lessons for so many reasons!!! First, we loved the location. We had lessons near the north shore, in a lesser used beach area, and we loved having the location mostly to ourselves. There was no bumping into other surfers or other people to laugh at our mishaps 🤣. Secondly, we got Andy as our instructor and he ensured we spent as much time in the water catching waves as possible. He was happy and helpful and gave us other recommendations for our trip including things to do and places to eat. He got my husband and I surfing for the first time. It was a real blast and I would highly recommend using this company if you get a chance!

Private Surf Lesson for Two: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Oahu.

How much does Private Surf Lesson for Two cost?

    +

Prices start at $125 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Oahu usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Surf Lesson for Two take?

    +

Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Oahu is not rushed.

Is Private Surf Lesson for Two worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 62 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 21 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Oahu, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Surf Lesson for Two?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Surf Lesson for Two suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Surf Lesson for Two?

    +

Around 7 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Oahu can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Oahu and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Surf Lesson for Two start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Oahu within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Oahu?

    +

On Outty we rank every Oahu experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Oahu: Full or Half Day Grand Circle Island Tour, Oahu Small-Group Circle Island Tour with Turtle Snorkeling, Pearl Harbor Remembered Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Oahu?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Oahu?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
