Great for families and cruise-goers!

We thoroughly enjoyed our time seeing the Palace and the surrounds with Viktoria. She was easy to communicate with and was actually able to book last minute. Her communication style was great for both my husband and I and my 11 and 14 year old children. She was even able to engage my son, who was very grumpy at the start! We wanted to see the Synagogue and she brought us to visit, which was really a highlight for me. She introduced us to their volunteer who was a wealth of information. When the kids or my husband or I had questions, she answered thoughtfully and kindly, even when they were tough philosophical ones about religion brought by my 11 yo daughter! She brought us to excellent gelato and went over the time, escorting us to an out of the way restaurant where we were eating at the end of the tour. All in all it was an excellent way to see the area in a short amount of time (we were coming from a cruise) and to get to know some history in a really fun way! I would definitely recommend!

Visit to Dalmatian Coast, Croatia

We a group of 20 had an excellent experience with our tour guide Viktoria during our visit to Trogir and Split on 25 and 26 March 2026. Her knowledge of Diocletians Palace was incredible. She explained the 1700 years history in a very easy to understand manner. In Trogir she took us through the narrow streets and made us see the the hidden architectural gems. She came across as a very friendly person. She was able to keep the attention of the group with her impeccable English and corelated things with the past history. I strongly recommend her to someone looking for a guide in Split and Trogir.

The best Tour guide in the world

Viktoria was the best tour guide in our whole trip in the cruise, we had so many tour guides from different towns and countries and Viktoria really stood out! She was very knowledgable of all the history of Croatia, and Split of course! She was passionate about it and made history and historic events very interesting and enjoyable even for my young children, that absolutely loved her! She was so kind, joyful, calm, patient and we felt as if we were her friends! Viktoria made us feel so welcomed in her town, and we definently really enjoyed the whole tour, the beautiful places we visited and overall her company! We loved Split because of Viktoria and we cant wait to come back! Her kindness with my children will never be forgotten! We all loved Viktoria! Thank you so much for such a beautiful day! Forever on our minds! Nina and familly from Portugal

Private Split Tour - Diocletian's Palace & Friendly Local Guide: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Split.

How much does Private Split Tour - Diocletian's Palace & Friendly Local Guide cost?

+

Prices start at $15 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Split usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Split Tour - Diocletian's Palace & Friendly Local Guide take?

+

Plan for about 1.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Split is not rushed.

Is Private Split Tour - Diocletian's Palace & Friendly Local Guide worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 75 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 26 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Split, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Split Tour - Diocletian's Palace & Friendly Local Guide?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Split Tour - Diocletian's Palace & Friendly Local Guide suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Split Tour - Diocletian's Palace & Friendly Local Guide?

+

Around 9 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Split can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Split and add a light layer if any part of the 1.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Split Tour - Diocletian's Palace & Friendly Local Guide start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Split within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Split?

+

On Outty we rank every Split experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Split Small-Group Walking Tour with a Magister of History, Split Walking Tour with Professor of History, From Split: Krka Waterfalls, Food & Wine Tasting Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Split?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Split?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
