Perfect 1/2 day tour & transfer with Ulysses Tours and Gratham

What a great day! Gratham was an awesome guide! Even though one of our groups flights was late, he waited! Then he adjusted to our needs a couple of times as we tired from the jet lag. Still we left the 1/2 day tour feeling like we got a great value and learned so, so much! Highly recommend this group and Gratham especially (so knowledgeable about so much)!

Response from the operator: Good day, thank you for taking time to send us a wonderful review. We strive to provide outstanding service to our customers. See you soon for another tour

    A very good guide

Visit to Soweto, very interesting and especially very good guide: Aaron. Very kindness and good, clear, interesting comments on the history of Soweto and the end of apartheid, which allowed us to start our journey well. Many thanks 🙏

Great Tour with interesting historical stories

Our guide Lucky was really great! He took us around Soweto and Pretoria, showing us the life and the history of the area. We stopped by the historical important spots. Lucky has an impressive knowledge about the history that he is able to pack into stories to tell. If you are interested in the history of South Africa, I can recommend this tour.

Response from the operator: Dear Mr Dollenbacher Thank you for taking the time on your holiday to do this review - we do appreciate your feedback and are glad that you enjoyed the day out with Lucky. He is indeed an excellent guide with an extensive knowledge of the area - his enthusiasm for his job helps to make tours with him fun, informative and memorable. Please let us know if there is anything further that you may need while in South Africa and enjoy the rest of your stay.

    +

That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Pretoria, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

    +

How far in advance should I book Private Soweto tour from Pretoria, Johannesburg and Sandton?

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Pretoria can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Pretoria and add a light layer if any part of the 3.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

What are the best things to do in Pretoria?

    +

On Outty we rank every Pretoria experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Soweto Cultural Walking Tour with Lunch, Guided Bicycle Tour of Soweto with Lunch, Johannesburg and Soweto tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Pretoria?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Pretoria?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
