My experience with Iceland Highlights was nothing short of amazing. Tung, the owner put together a customized plan for us based on our preferences and Agnus, the driver/guide executed it perfectly for our week exploring the south coast of Iceland. They are highly professional and truly want to make this the best vacation possible for you.
Response from the operator: Dear Allyson, Thank you so much for your kind words and for taking the time to share your experience! It was truly our pleasure to design your South Coast adventure and we’re delighted to hear that both the planning and guiding made your trip special. We’ll be sure to share your feedback with Agnes as well — he’ll be thrilled to know he helped create such a memorable week for you. Your recommendation means a lot to us, and we hope to welcome you back to Iceland for more adventures whenever you’re ready. There’s always more to explore, and we’d be honored to assist again.

BAMBOOZLED BY THIS COMPANY!!!
DO NOT TAKE THIS TRIP IF YOU WANT TO GET YOUR MONEY'S WORTH. FOR 2 HOURS 1 1/2 IF YOU PUT IN THE TIME YOU WERE PICKED UP. THE DRIVER DROVE ME AROUND A LITTLE LESS THAN 1 1/2 HOURS AND BROUGHT ME BACK TO THE AIRPORT AND WANTED TO CHARGE ME FOR THE WHOLE FIVE HOURS. THE TRIP WAS SUPPOSED TO BE FOR FIVE HOURS. I AM IN A DISPUTE WITH THEM RIGHT NOW AS I REFUSE TO PAY $728 USD FOR A TRIP THAT IS LESS THAN TWO HOURS. BAD BUSINESS PRACTICE
Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your recent experience with Iceland Highlights. We continually strive for excellence in our services and sincerely value the insights shared by our clients, as they guide our efforts in enhancing our tours. Regarding your booking, I understand that it was made last minute and acknowledge the effort you took to familiarize yourself with the details provided on our site. We aim for transparency in all our communications and regret any misunderstandings regarding the tour duration and charges incurred. I would like to address the concerns raised in your review, especially in relation to the itinerary changes and the duration spent at each site. Due to the unforeseen volcanic eruption, adjustments to our standard itinerary were necessary to ensure the safety and well-being of all our guests. As a result, one stop was unfortunately removed from the itinerary. We acknowledged this alteration by issuing a refund for the affected portion of the tour, aiming to maintain transparency and fairness. Further, it was observed that the time spent at each designated site during your tour was notably brief, often less than 5 minutes, which significantly deviated from our planned 20-30 minute stops. This unusual pace, predominantly guided by your preference on the day, inevitably led to a shorter overall tour duration than initially anticipated. While we endeavor to accommodate our guests’ desires and pace during the tour, this flexibility can sometimes result in variations from the expected tour timeline. We understand that the combination of the itinerary change due to natural events and the shorter duration at each stop may not have aligned with your expectations of the tour. We sincerely apologize for any disappointment this has caused. Our team is dedicated to ensuring that all our guests have a memorable and satisfying experience exploring the wonders of Iceland, and we regret if we fell short of this goal on your tour. We appreciate you bringing your experience to our attention and would welcome the opportunity to discuss this matter further or to address any additional feedback you may have. Please feel free to reach out to us directly at your convenience. Thank you once again for choosing Iceland Highlights. We hope to have the chance to serve you again in the future, delivering the high-quality experience that you and all our guests rightfully expect.

Fantastic and accommodating service!
If you're looking for personal service, look no further than Iceland Highlights. Tung was super helpful to our group looking late one night for a day tour to the south cost. We ended up spending 10 hours with the most wonderful Marius who took us to numerous sites, some well off the beaten track, and treated us like family. We then were lucky to spend another evening with Marius in seeming sub-zero weather searching for elusive Northern Lights - what a good sport he was! Thank you Tung and Marius for making our trip to Iceland so memorable. Your service is top notch!!

Great customer service and fantastic experience
We were scrambling to figure out how six of us could go see the waterfalls, a glacier, the black sand beach, and perhaps the Icelandic horses while still making it back in time for dinner reservations that had to be made months in advance. None of the tours worked with our timing. After some late night google searching, we came upon this company who was willing to accommodate our requests. The vehicle was clean (like, brand new clean), the ride was great, but most importantly, our driver Marius was better than anything we expected. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to put up with six loud and demanding middle aged women having the trip of a lifetime. He walked around with us, provided insight, and even agreed to take the many pictures we requested of him. We loved him so much in fact that we booked him for a private Northern Lights excursion the next night as well. We highly recommend using Iceland Highlights for your private tour - worth every penny (krona)!
Response from the operator: Thank you very much for your awesome review :) we are very glad to hear that you liked the service.

Why this scores 49
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private South Coast tour in Iceland: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Reykjavik.
How much does Private South Coast tour in Iceland cost?
+
Prices start at $1500 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Reykjavik usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private South Coast tour in Iceland take?
+
Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Reykjavik is not rushed.
Is Private South Coast tour in Iceland worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 49 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.2/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Reykjavik, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private South Coast tour in Iceland?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private South Coast tour in Iceland suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 10-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private South Coast tour in Iceland?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Reykjavik can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Reykjavik and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private South Coast tour in Iceland start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Reykjavik within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Reykjavik?
+
On Outty we rank every Reykjavik experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Reykjavik Food Walk - Local Foodie Adventure in Iceland, Small-Group Golden Circle, Blue Lagoon with Ticket & Kerid Crater, Reykjavík Small group Walking Tour - by CityWalk. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Reykjavik?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Reykjavik?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
