Katla Ice Cave Kerlingardalsvegur
We will come to a stop near the roots of the Kötlujökull glacier, where the view that greets us is truly otherworldly. After putting on our crampons and helmets, we’ll take a short walk to the ice cave’s opening, possibly climbing a few steps on ladders to reach the entrance. As the natural ice cave constantly changes, conditions can differ on each tour. However, the climb is quite manageable, and anyone in average physical condition should be able to ascend these steps. It may look adventurous, but it is not demanding! Beautiful layers of various colored ice and volcanic ash unfold from the ice as we approach the cave, painting impressive stripes in the glacier. Your guide will share fascinating insights about the glacier’s history, the ice cave, and the surrounding area, making the tour both educational and exciting. Upon returning from the glacier, we will explore to see if any smaller ice caves are accessible before heading back to our super truck.

Iceland Eclipse Tour
Bo knows a lot of Icelandic history and folklore and made a great guide. We had a group of 15 and balancing differing levels of fitness and energy was challenging. Way to give choices and help make this a good tour for everyone.

Adrien was definitely “Our Friend in Reykjavik” 😀
Our guide Adrien was exceptional! Due to the weather our arranged tour ran into a cancellation of a glacier hike add on - however Adrien found super cool experiences not originally part of the itinerary to fill the gap and make the day better than expected. He took us to hike the Dyrholaey Cliffs where we saw puffins up close and they gave us an “air show” - the puffins were so close. He also added hidden waterfalls to our tour where we went into a hidden canyon and another where we went into a cave to go to the bottom of a waterfall. The loss of the glacier hike became a “nothing burger” as we got to experience traversing a glacier as part of the Ice Caves part of the tour. He also ensured we had time to stop in Vik at the crepe food truck (a must do). Along the way Adrien gave us some insight into Viking and Icelandic history and was overall superb!
