Wonderful Hue tour

We very much enjoyed our day in Hue with Tiffany. Her knowledge of the areas history was exceptional. Our tour included many Temples and a fabulous lunch at a charming restaurant. She covered everything we asked for and more. Highly recommend

Hue, a view of the life of the Imperial Dynasty of Vietnam

Ben, our guide, found us at the DaNang port and loaded us into a comfortable van and off we went to Hue. He did an excellent job of guiding us through the Citidel, explaining the history of the place and the customs and organization of the buildings relating to the lives of the royal family that lived there. He was sensitive to our level of energy and interest and was enthusiastic and informative. We had a grand time. Ben brought us to a lovely local restaurant for our lunch and helped order food that gave us the local experience. After lunch, we did a ride on the Perfume River in a Dragon boat in order to visit the Thien Mu Pagoda and we viewed the temple dedicated to one of the 14 kings that were in place prior to Ho Chi Min bringing an end to the Imperial Dynasty of Vietnam. This was an excellent tour and I would highly recommend it.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your valuable review !! We really appriciate it !!! Looking forward to welcoming you back in the near future !!

Local history at its best

Our guide, Mike, contacted us the day before regarding pick up arrangements. Unfortunately this did not go very well, in that we were instructed to meet at the port gates and he was waiting at a second set of gates! As it was pouring with rain this was not a good start. The trip proceeded and we undertook the tour as advertised. Mike's information on the royal family's history was second to none and it proved to be very informative throughout the tour. Mike also took us to a local Vietnamese cafe for lunch which was excellent. All in all, despite the poor start and been a very wet day, I still rate this as a very good and positive experience.

Great trip but more attention to detail and food options.

Positives - Great sites all in one day- imperial city, Pagoda, emperors tomb, perfume river - Transportation was clean comfortable and professional - easily moved from site to site, good logistic plans - guide was young but knowledgeable and eager - Good value compared to similar tours Negatives - Had to walk to the very far gate of port to meet guides, this is due to high entrance fees charged by port . It takes 5-10mins. The cost saved here is reflected in the tour price. - Food options provided where very tourist/western cuisine despite us preferring and asking for a local Vietnamese restaurant. The guide apologised after but we missed the chance to eat locally. - guide could do with a few more years experience. - Perfume river is nothing special or ‘perfume’

How far in advance should I book Private Shore Excursion to HUE IMPERIAL CITY from Chanmay/Tiensa Port?

+

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Da Nang can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Da Nang and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

What are the best things to do in Da Nang?

+

On Outty we rank every Da Nang experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Full Day Golden Bridge and Ba Na Hills Small Group Tour, Marble Mountains - Am Phu Cave - Monkey Mountain Sunset tour, Lady Buddha, Marble Mountains, Coconut Jungle & Hoian City Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Da Nang?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Da Nang?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
