Wonderful tour - full of culture and scenery
I am sorry but I did not note the name of the driver of our tour. He was very quiet but nice. He drove safely. Upon picking us up, he did not have our name on a board, and we walked around to find him. We also had 2 other couples on our tour that I recruited from Cruise critic. I did not know their last name and apparently on the board, the driver had their last name (which I did not know). Somehow, with that debacle we got together. The car was comfortable with enough room for everyone and then some. We stopped at a batik sore (which I loved). That was the highlight of our trip to Bali. I ran out of time to purchase a bunch more of batik cotton fabric and ended up with only 2 meters. We stopped at a temple where the 2 couples with us went to investigate. We stayed behind as we had just come from another tour in Bangkok and visited a multitude of temples. No one wanted anything to eat although our driver asked numerous times. The rice terraces were awesome. The waterfall to this really nice too. I would definitely recommend anyone to this Viator tour of Bali. It was full of culture and scenery. Thank our driver for his professionalism and care and safety of us. He could have spoken more to us though, i.e. where we were going and maybe what to expect. That and the debacle of finding him was the only negative things I can say. Otherwise, it was great!

Bali Day Trip From Cruise Ship
Kantun was a great guide. Very personable and knowledgeable. He selected different places for us to visit. He either walked us through each stop or dropped us off and was there to pick us up. He took us to a great place for an authentic Bali lunch. Though traffic was heavy he covered a lot of distance and got us back to ship in time. It was extremely hot and humid during the day and his air conditioning worked great in his car!
Response from the operator: Dear Steve_W, We are very grateful to be receiving such a positive review about your wonderful tour in Bali. Your compliment to one of our driver/guide, Kantun, was enough to bring happiness to the whole team. Your feedback will be served usefully as a tool to improve our service in the future. Hopefully we can assist you again in your next trip in Bali. Regards, Wayan

Highly Recommend Requesting Dekwi Personally, WOW!
Dekwi, our driver and tour guide was absolutely amazing! He knew all the best routes to get through traffic and show us some of the unique and amazing culture around Bali. He was happy customize our trip any way we wanted and offered really great advise for places we were curious to We asked about the unique coffee from the civet called Lusaka , Dekwi knew of a cute local place to take us to enjoy a cup and some local cuisine. We were greeted on a cute path in a garden of trees & plants (vanilla, cinnamon, cacao & lemongrass) Our guide pulled leaves off the the trees & plants for us to smell the delicious flavors. We learned how the coffee was harvested which was very interesting. We enjoyed a cup before returning to our car. He also escorted us to some temples we had inquired about. He did just drop us, he actually escorted us and showed us the best places for photos as well as explaining some of the history and significance of each. Fantastic! Dekwi even went further than that, he extended our tour so he could take us to the Kecak Fire Dance that we had tickets for that night. He escorted us through grounds, again showing us great photo ops and answering all of our questions about their culture and celebrations that were taking place a couple of days later. He also kept us from having our phones, jewelry, etc. stolen by the monkeys. We watch several people lose their phones, water bottles and even glasses right off their faces. We also watched as security negotiated with the monkeys to get them back. Dekwi would warn us if he noticed them watching us when we were taking a photo and told us what to avoid to protect ourselves. He escorted us to exchange our voucher for tickets and then directly to the theater. He also met us after as we were making our way to the exit to escort us back to the car. We felt completely safe as he drove us through the chaotic dance of driving with thousands of scooters and motorcycles weaving all around you! I would NOT recommend trying to drive here on your own. We have driven ourselves in NY, USA and the narrow roads in Ireland and we would not even consider it here in Bali. It is something only years of experience could prepare you for. I would highly recommend requesting him personally when you come to Bali. He will make your visit so much better. Thanks Dekwi!!

Why this scores 78
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Shore Excursion: Customized Best of Bali Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Ubud.
How much does Private Shore Excursion: Customized Best of Bali Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $35 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Ubud usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Shore Excursion: Customized Best of Bali Tour take?
+
Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Ubud is not rushed.
Is Private Shore Excursion: Customized Best of Bali Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 78 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 45 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Ubud, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Shore Excursion: Customized Best of Bali Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Shore Excursion: Customized Best of Bali Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Shore Excursion: Customized Best of Bali Tour?
+
Around 16 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Ubud can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Ubud and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Shore Excursion: Customized Best of Bali Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Ubud within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Ubud?
+
On Outty we rank every Ubud experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Mount Batur Jeep Adventure, Best of Ubud Full-Day Tour with Jungle Swing, Full-Day Tour to Water Temples and UNESCO Rice Terraces in Bali. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Ubud?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Ubud?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
