Santiago Mountain Biking High!
I spent a wonderful 2+ hours (about 14km) getting some excercise and great views with Balthazar who guided me around the green parks of Valdivia and Providencia and then up and down Cerro San Cristobal on a warm and sunny spring day. Even though the funicular no longer transports bicycles up the mountain for the ride down, I found the incline up the mountain to be very gradual so not as hard as I imagined. It was a good workout. Balthazar was always on the watch to make sure I was nearby and gave me advice along the way as to gearing, etc. He was also very patient as I took it quite slow when we went down the hill on a short stretch of dirt path. He pointed out sites of interest and explained the history of the city and uts various comunes.
Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your wonderful experience! We’re so glad to hear you had such a great time with Balthazar exploring the parks of Valdivia and Providencia, as well as Cerro San Cristóbal. It’s fantastic that the route was manageable for you and that Balthazar’s guidance and support made the ride enjoyable. We truly appreciate your mention of his attentiveness, patience, and informative commentary about the city. We hope to see you again soon for another memorable adventure Jeffrey! Excellent Active Exploration of Santiago!!
I had a great morning ride with Balthazar - highly recommend this outing! We did a 3 hour mountain bike tour - including a bit of the city, Metropolitan Park and San Cristobal Hill. Although I’m in good shape, I’m not really a mountain biker, so Balthazar tailored the experience to my level - ie baby mountain bike trails!! He was very good at telling me what to expect on each part of our ride, and what some of the challenges may be. Balthazar is super friendly- excellent English- fun to chat with him and learn about life in Santiago. Santiago is a big, populous city, I enjoyed seeing the parks and more natural parts of the city via bike. Tell Balthazar what you are up for, and he will customize the ride for you. I’d highly recommend this tour for anyone who would like an active exploration of Santiago!!!
Response from the operator: Thank you for the wonderful review! We’re so happy to hear you had such a great time with Balthazar. It sounds like he did an excellent job tailoring the ride to your experience level while still providing a fun challenge. It’s also great to hear that you enjoyed seeing the more natural, scenic parts of Santiago from the bike—it’s such a unique way to explore the city! We appreciate your recommendation and agree that Balthazar is a fantastic guide, with great knowledge and a friendly approach. Thanks again, and we hope you’ll join us for another adventure soon Karla! Thanks for the recommendation. Elena&Patricio

MTB San Cristobal Hill tour
It was a great tour, Baltazar was a fantastic guide, so interesting about all the places we visited. We also talked about so many things including the Santiago music scene, political history, constitutional change and much more. The bike ride was great too ;-) Highly recommended.
Response from the operator: Thank you for the wonderful feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed the tour. It was a pleasure sharing insights about Santiago's vibrant culture and history. And I’m happy to hear you loved the bike ride! Hope to see you again on your next adventure!

Bike through Santiago
Perfect way to see the different parks in Santiago. I did not have the skill needed for this tour, but Balthazar was super accommodation and found a way for me to get down. Note that you will be biking up hill for a good chunk of this tour but the views are worth it.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your feedback! We're glad to hear that you enjoyed the tour and that Balthazar was able to accommodate your needs. The uphill biking can be a challenge, but it's great to know the views made it all worthwhile. We appreciate your insight and hope to welcome you back for more adventures in the future!Taylor! Mountain Views in the City
Beautiful bike ride - got to see some really cool parts of Santiago. But I definitely was not skilled enough for this tour/ the mountain biking part was difficult; however, Balthazar was super accommodating and helped me find a route down the mountain! Note that this tour will require biking up the hill which was hard but the views were worth it.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your feedback! We’re glad you enjoyed the beautiful bike ride and the unique parts of Santiago. It’s great to hear that Balthazar was accommodating and helped you navigate the route. The uphill challenge can be tough, but it sounds like the stunning views made it worthwhile! We hope you’ll consider joining us for more adventures in the future Taylor! Elena&Patricio huasotours

Private San Cristobal Hill Mountain Bike Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Santiago.
How much does Private San Cristobal Hill Mountain Bike Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $139 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Santiago usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private San Cristobal Hill Mountain Bike Tour take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Santiago is not rushed.
Is Private San Cristobal Hill Mountain Bike Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 58 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 28 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable outdoors in Santiago, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private San Cristobal Hill Mountain Bike Tour?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is Private San Cristobal Hill Mountain Bike Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private San Cristobal Hill Mountain Bike Tour?
+
Around 10 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Santiago can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Santiago and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private San Cristobal Hill Mountain Bike Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Santiago within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Santiago?
+
On Outty we rank every Santiago experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Maipo Valley Wine Region: 4 Wineries, Tastings & Foodie Tour, Valparaiso Port and Viña del Mar with Casablanca Wine Tasting, Tour to Valparaíso, Viña del Mar, Pablo Neruda Museum and Vineyard. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Santiago?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Santiago?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.

+
