    Excellent service! Highly recommended!

We had a absolutely great time in Bogota together with Felipe! He picked us up at the airport and we had beautiful tours together with him (City Tour Bogota, Salt Cathedral, "Holy Lake" and the coffee farm). He was always on time and explained us so many things about Bogota and Colombia that, after a few days, we felt like being home. By the way - he talks excellent English - not very common in Colombia... We will for sure book his services again when we are back in Colombia!

Response from the operator: Dear Lars, Thank you so much for your wonderful review! It was truly a pleasure to spend those days with you and your wife, showing you around Bogota and beyond. From the city tour to the Salt Cathedral, the "Holy Lake," and the coffee farm, I’m so glad you enjoyed the experiences. I’m happy to hear that my explanations helped you feel at home here—it means a lot to know I could make your visit even more special. Your kind words about my punctuality and driving are much appreciated, as is your compliment on my English. I look forward to welcoming you both back to Colombia in the future. Thank you for your trust and for highly recommending my services! From Luis Felipe, ¡muchas gracias queridos amigos! 🇩🇪🇨🇼🇨🇴🇩🇪🇨🇼🇨🇴

Visiting Bogota - Hire the Bogota Driver Guide Service!

My son and I spent 4 days in Bogota. In addition to having Luis as out guide for 2 of those days, we hired him to pick us up at the airport when we arrived. We knew immediately that we would be delighted with service from Luis. Unfortunately we didn't get to meet his brother. Luis was an amazing guide. He is knowledgeable, interesting and provides excellent customer service. Luis does not watch the clock. His goal is to make sure that you learn about Bogota and see the sites that are important to you. I wanted to go to the Salt Cathedral and Lake Guatavita but was concerned when I read some of the reviews. I decided to take a chance and hired Luis for this trip. One warning, it is a very long day. Having said that, it is also a very interesting and informative day. At Lake Guatavita you are led through the park by a ranger. Nevertheless less, Luis stayed with us the entire time and translated. While the ranger was lovely and possibly could have managed in English as well as Spanish, we would have struggled to understand her. Luis's English is excellent and he is easy to understand. I wear hearing aids and have trouble understanding some people but I did very well with Luis. One alert, if you are older, as I am, (I'll be 80 on 2/9), Lake Guatavita is at an even higher altitude than Bogota. Walking up over 100 steps can be taxing under these conditions. The ranger does go at a slow pace and is willing to stop as needed. I did need to ask for a few stops even though I exercise regularly. The effort to get to the top is definitely worth it. Lake Guatavita played an important role in the life of the indigenous people of the region and should be seen after a visit to the Gold Museum. After visiting the Lake Guatavita we rode about 11/2 hours to the Salt Cathedral. At Luis suggestion we all had lunch in a restaurant near the salt mine and enjoyed the local food. Luis hired a guide who is also a mine worker to take us through the Salt Cathedral. Again Luis stayed with us the entire time. He oversees everything to make certain you are please with the way the tour is proceeding. Even if you're not Catholic, which we are not, the Salt Cathedral is amazing. We were glad we built this into our Bogota visit. Finally, I cannot say enough about Luis as a guide. He works hard to make certain that your visit meets or exceeds your expectations. In addition, he is a delightful young man. I unconditionally recommend him and his company. Hopefully I will get a chance to meet up with him again in the future.

Response from the operator: Dear Mrs. Weiden! Thank you very much for this amazing review! We’re pleased to know that our service met your expectations! We’re highly prepared to give to our clients an objective view of our Country, all our services are planned to offer high quality experiences, adding a little bit of Colombian passion and joy! It was a pleasure for me to show you my City, I had so much fun in the visits to Lake Guatavita and Salt Cathedral, I’m happy that our detailed planning filled your expectations! We continue working hard to offer the best Tours and Transfers in Bogota to our clients, giving a comfortable transportation, professional guiding, security and flexible concierge service. From Alejandro and Luis Felipe, thank you very much for choosing our services, goodbye! 🇺🇸🇨🇴🇺🇸🇨🇴🇺🇸

Private Salt Cathedral & Lake Guatavita Tour from Bogota, 11 hrs: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Bogotá.

How much does Private Salt Cathedral & Lake Guatavita Tour from Bogota, 11 hrs cost?

    +

Prices start at $69 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Bogotá usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Salt Cathedral & Lake Guatavita Tour from Bogota, 11 hrs take?

    +

Plan for about 11 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Bogotá is not rushed.

Is Private Salt Cathedral & Lake Guatavita Tour from Bogota, 11 hrs worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 66 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Bogotá, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Salt Cathedral & Lake Guatavita Tour from Bogota, 11 hrs?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Salt Cathedral & Lake Guatavita Tour from Bogota, 11 hrs suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 11-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Salt Cathedral & Lake Guatavita Tour from Bogota, 11 hrs?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Bogotá can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Bogotá and add a light layer if any part of the 11-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Salt Cathedral & Lake Guatavita Tour from Bogota, 11 hrs start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Bogotá within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Bogotá?

    +

On Outty we rank every Bogotá experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Free Graffiti Walking Tour Every Day in Bogota, Bogota Zipaquira Salt Cathedral Private Tour + Lunch, Private City Tour Bogota + Monserrate, Gold, Botero and Candelaria.. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Bogotá?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Bogotá?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
