Private Ring of Kerry Drive with Fantastic Guide
My adult boys and I had a wonderful experience with our driver Sheila. She was very knowledgeable about local history and told us great stories with lots of laughter along the way. She even sang a couple of beautiful Irish songs! It was so important to have such a pleasant experience and conversation when you are in the car together for a 7 hour tour. When we arrived at the Kerry Cliffs she was able to drive us up the path after the parking lot, which saved us about a 10 minute up hill walk... which I greatly appreciated! Sheila's lunch recommendation resulted in the best fish 'n chips we had on our entire trip.

Don't take a tour with "Danny "Boy"!
Our group of 6 booked an afternoon tour for the Ring of Kerry. The woman at the Deros Tours office was very kind and found a driver for us to take at 1 pm for the 6 hour tour. She said his name was "Danny Boy," but his real name is Donie O'Sullivan. He talked about going to see some different places, rather than the usual tour stops. He did not use a microphone that the office said he would have, so the people in the 3rd row could not hear anything he was talking about. Our first stop was the Skellig Chocolate store. The driver went in the shop as well so that he could purchase a teddy bear for his granddaughter and then proceeded to have a coffee and snack while we waited for 30 minutes on him to come back out. The next stop was the Kerry Cliffs (the absolute highlight of the day). He talked about how the Waterville golf course has the best Irish stew and that he thought that would be a great place for lunch. Although the scenery was stunning, Danny Boy sat at a table away from us, and when the bill came, he had the wait staff add his meal to our bill. All of the way back he was zooming in and out of traffic and complaining that he had never done a tour that late in the day. He repeated that complaint at least 3 times. We have used this tour office for the Dunloe Gap tour on 2 separate occasions and have had no prior issues at all. My suggestion to them would be not to use this driver again. Very disappointed.

My husband and I had the most wonderful experience today with our Tour Guide/Driver Danny. Danny was highly professional and exceptionally knowledgeable of the area and it's history. We learned a lot and laughed a lot, with a wee sing song along the way. We didn't want the tour to end. Fantastic day with Darren (so?). He was prompt, safe and was very knowledgeable. He was also very flexible in planning the day. He wanted to know what special sights we wanted to see and he made it happen.

Private Kerry Day Tours saved the day. After our hotel messed up our original tour booking with another company, Private Kerry Day Tours was able to accommodate us last minute with a wonderful and only slightly shorter day tour. Our guide, Danny O’Sullivan, came in on his day off and was fantastic. He is funny, engaging, and extremely knowledgeable. We bypassed some crowded touristy spots and saw some things not on our original itinerary. Highly recommend the sheep dog demonstration and the stunning Cliffs of Kerry.
