    Incredible tour with Heba

I am lucky that Heba was my tour guide. She was kind, friendly, easy to talk to and informative. She made sure to answer all my questions, and encouraged me to ask more. She even made sure to take me to places in the pyramids that were off the beaten path and had amazing views. At the GEM she was patient and made sure I got to see what I wanted to see. I would 100% recommend this tour and Heba as your guide. Thank you!

Fabulous overnight shore excursion from Alexandria to Cairo with Giza pyramids, Nile, old Cairo by Vagus travel

Fabulous two day tour of Cairo from Alexandria cruise port. For our group of 11, Vagus set up a custom itinerary to match our cruise arrival and departure. Our Cairo guide Mustafa skilfully managed the time to maximize what the group wanted most including the perfume and papyrus workshops. The hotel and restaurants they chose (included) were efficient and good quality. We so enjoyed the lighted fountain and dancing during the Dinner cruise on the Nile! The felucca ride during the day complimented the night Nile view. They provided a great photographer, Mahmoud, for the group, to capture all the moments of the tour (included). Our driver kept us safe in the hair-raising traffic. All in all we highly recommend Vagus for your Egypt experience.

    Well-organized and knowledgable!

We had an unforgettable, seamless experience in Egypt thanks to our tour guides! Mustafa was our overall guide for the day and Amal was our guide at the pyramids and museum. Our driver was skilled and careful — including navigating some gnarly traffic in Alexandria on the way back. The van was comfortable for our group of 6. Mustafa is friendly and capable, and communicated clearly with us leading up to and during our trip. Amal is incredibly warm, welcoming and knowledgable — she has her master’s in Egyptology, and has been working as a tour guide for > 20 years. We can’t recommend her enough! She is clearly passionate about ancient Egyptian history and really made it come alive for us. The new Grand Egyptian Museum is simply incredible and the perfect way to cool off after the pyramids. We also visited a perfumery, papyrus shop, and jewelry store where you can get pieces customized with your name in hieroglyphics. We opted to skip the bazaar at the end of a full day. Everyone we met was so welcoming and grateful to have tourists visit. A couple of things to be aware of: the camel ride is substantial! Like a good 20 minutes. Not for the faint of heart but extremely fun! FYI, the camel guy (not affiliated with the tour company) was pretty demanding for tips. Amal recommended about $2 a person and when we gave him $40 for our group of 6, he balked and asked for more — just something to be aware of. Also, while we stopped at a grocery store about halfway to Cairo for some snacks, it didn’t seem like lunch was part of the plan, so we had to ask to get some lunch around 2pm, but the team was flexible and ready to accommodate. We highly recommend the museum restaurant actually — pretty cheap and delicious!

Private Pyramids, Sphinx and Grand Egyptian Museum Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cairo.

How much does Private Pyramids, Sphinx and Grand Egyptian Museum Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $65 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cairo usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Pyramids, Sphinx and Grand Egyptian Museum Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cairo is not rushed.

Is Private Pyramids, Sphinx and Grand Egyptian Museum Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 56 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 9 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cairo, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Pyramids, Sphinx and Grand Egyptian Museum Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Pyramids, Sphinx and Grand Egyptian Museum Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Pyramids, Sphinx and Grand Egyptian Museum Tour?

    +

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cairo can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cairo and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Pyramids, Sphinx and Grand Egyptian Museum Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cairo within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Cairo?

    +

On Outty we rank every Cairo experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include All-in-One Giza Tour, inside Pyramid, sphinx, Camel ride & lunch, VIP Private Giza Pyramids, Sphinx Tour –Inside the Pyramids&More, Giza Pyramids all inclusive,Sphinx, lunch,Camel, insid pyramid. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Cairo?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Cairo?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
