Built for Pharaoh Menkaure, this pyramid stands at approximately 65 meters (213 feet) and is unique for its original granite casing at the base. Unlike the Great Pyramid, which is primarily constructed of limestone, Menkaure’s pyramid showcases a blend of limestone and granite, making it a fascinating architectural wonder. **Note:** If you wish to explore the Menkaure Pyramid from the inside, you can purchase an entry ticket at the ticket office for an additional cost. Unlike the other pyramids, Khafre’s Pyramid still retains some of its original smooth limestone casing at the top, giving a glimpse of how all the pyramids once looked. It stands at 136 meters (446 feet) and is often mistaken for the largest due to its elevated position on bedrock. **Note:** If you wish to explore the interior of Khafre’s Pyramid, you can purchase an entry ticket at the ticket office for an additional cost. Great Sphinx
Afterward, continue to the Great Sphinx, an iconic limestone statue with the head of a pharaoh and the body of a lion, believed to date back to the reign of Pharaoh Khafre (Chephren). The Sphinx was built to guard the pyramids and remains one of the most mysterious monuments of ancient Egypt. Next, visit the Valley Temple, which was part of Khafre’s pyramid complex. This temple played a crucial role in the purification and mummification rituals of the king before his burial. Its well-preserved granite pillars and alabaster floors provide a glimpse into the grandeur of ancient Egyptian ceremonies. After exploring these incredible sites, enjoy a delicious lunch at a VIP restaurant with your guide, where you can relax and reflect on your journey through ancient history. Finally, you will head back to your hotel, concluding your unforgettable tour of the Pyramids of Giza.

Nile tours experience
It was our first day in Cairo today and thanks to our tour guide Mohammed and driver we had an amazing experience! We were picked up on time and provided with water, friendliness and hospitality by both. We were taken to the pyramids and felt, as two girls on our own in the country, very safe and at ease. Mohammed had so much knowledge of the history of ancient Egypt and was happy to answer any questions we had with no issue with any topic. He also took lots of photos for us too! He went above and beyond his job description taking us to a local cafe and getting us local drinks to try. This was really appreciated as it made us feel safe and welcome with the Cairo locals and their way of life. We had an amazing time and would recommend Nile Tours and tour guide Mohammed to anyone who wants a relaxed but also exciting and authentic experience of Cairo’s ancient sites and Egyptian culture.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for this wonderful feedback and for choosing Nile Tours for your first day in Cairo! We are truly grateful for your kind support. It warms our hearts to hear that you felt completely safe, comfortable, and warmly welcomed as two travelers on your own. We will certainly pass along your special thanks to Mohammed and your driver—they will be thrilled to know that their knowledge, hospitality, photos, and local café visit made your Pyramids tour so memorable. We appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you back for more amazing Egyptian adventures in the future!

Why this scores 73
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Pyramids and Sphinx Tour with Inside Pyramid Entry Fees: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cairo.
How much does Private Pyramids and Sphinx Tour with Inside Pyramid Entry Fees cost?
+
Prices start at $25 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cairo usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Pyramids and Sphinx Tour with Inside Pyramid Entry Fees take?
+
Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cairo is not rushed.
Is Private Pyramids and Sphinx Tour with Inside Pyramid Entry Fees worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 73 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 13 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cairo, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Pyramids and Sphinx Tour with Inside Pyramid Entry Fees?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Pyramids and Sphinx Tour with Inside Pyramid Entry Fees suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Pyramids and Sphinx Tour with Inside Pyramid Entry Fees?
+
Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cairo can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cairo and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Pyramids and Sphinx Tour with Inside Pyramid Entry Fees start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cairo within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Cairo?
+
On Outty we rank every Cairo experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include All-in-One Giza Tour, inside Pyramid, sphinx, Camel ride & lunch, VIP Private Giza Pyramids, Sphinx Tour –Inside the Pyramids&More, Best of Cairo Private Giza Pyramids, Sphinx and Grand Museum Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cairo?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cairo?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
