Great excursion with Hugo!
We had a great time with Hugo! He did an amazing job, was very friendly, and showed us all the sights. We will definitely use him again.

The tour company sent a...
The tour company sent a message on WhatsApp the day before with specific meet up information. Hugo was waiting at the agreed time and location outside the cruise terminal area with a smile. He gave a great tour of the city areas, if we didn't want something he quickly moved on to something else to see. He was good about dropping us off/picking up at the destination and then parking on his own to avoid the long hot walk. Good a/c in the car. He was energetic to share his culture. Felt safe on the excursion as initially worried booking outside the cruise line.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for joining us and for taking the time to share your experience! 🇩🇴 It was a pleasure showing you around Puerto Plata and sharing a little bit of our culture with you. We’re very happy you felt safe, comfortable, and enjoyed the flexibility of the tour. We hope to welcome you back to the Dominican Republic again someday! — Hugo

In Great Hands with Hugo!
We texted in the morning for a meeting time and Hugo was at the main gate outside waiting for us! He assured us, we had as much time as we needed, and he would be mindful of our Cruise departure. We loaded up into his van, and off we went...to the amber museum, a stroll down Umbrella Street, chocolate tastings, shopping at their local "wallmart", a fantastic caribbean beachside lunch ( I tried momofungo!) mountain top views, and the best company with Hugo. We enjoyed our day together! The only thing to be mindful of, 6 people max for his van, if u have 7, that person will be sitting on a stool in the middle, so its not so comfortable. Also, meeting point is outside the main gate, so if u have seniors, its like a 10-15 minutes walk from ship to gate. The 3rd party tours are not allowed to drive inside. You will have to walk it.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review, Sandy! We’re so happy you enjoyed exploring Puerto Plata with Hugo. It was a pleasure showing you our beautiful city. We’re especially glad you felt comfortable knowing that Hugo was keeping an eye on your cruise departure time. Thank you as well for mentioning the meeting point and vehicle capacity. We truly appreciate your feedback and hope to welcome you back to Puerto Plata on your next cruise! 🇩🇴🌴
