False advertising
False advertising. We paid extra to arrive before everyone else. There were hundreds of people ahead of us. At 200 euros a person, we basically paid to arrive with the general public who were let in at the same time as us. Same your money and just arrive early. I only wanted the tour to arrive before the General public.

Extremely Knowledgeable Tour Leader
Our guide Esmeralda was excellent. Her knowledge of Christian, Vatican, Italian and other history was remarkable. She answered all of our questions with thought and good humor. We did not realize our tour fee did not include a gratuity. If there is a way for us to give Esmeralda a tip after the fact, please let me know.

You NEED a guide for this place!
I booked the "Pristine Sistine Early Entrance Small Group Vatican Tour" directly with "Walks of Italy". Not the private version - but I cant find a review site for that. My group had the max: 18 people. Meeting place was easy to find. We were in line before the museums officially opened. Tour guide was fantastic, so much information. I learned plenty about each room we saw, and really got so much more knowledge about sculptures in general. We all wore headphones, so crowd noise was not an issue. The explanatory signage in the Vatican Museum is non-existent, so without a tour guide, you'd be both lost and uninformed. Note that as others said, it is still quite crowded, although less so than later in the day. Also, there's not a lot of time to linger, but the museums would take days if you did that, and we did have some time around major sights. The fast-pass into St. Peter's Basilica was critical, as the line to get through their separate security otherwise would've taken hours by mid-morning. You do have time at the end to linger in the Basilica, but you cannot go backwards back into the museum (we tried!). Afterwards tour guide stayed to make sure everyone had info on where to go next - restrooms, gift shops, ubers, and restaurants. I gave it 4 stars, just because the website doesn't make clear that everything will still be really crowded so early in the morning (but again, less so than later). And it was still alot of people on the tour, so it was hard to personalize. But if I ever go back, I might get the pricier Private pre-opening tour, just to avoid crowds even more, and get that 5-star experience.

Not as advertised
This tour is advertised as a more private tour of the siting chapel. It is not. You wait outside for about an hour before you enter Vatican City behind hundreds of other people. By the time you get in you are in the middle of huge crowds. This was an art tour more than a pristine Sistine chapel tour. The website is very misleading. When in the Sistine chapel you are in the middle of Hugh crowds. You do not beat any crowds. Very disappointed. The tour guide was great. If you want a more private tour this is not the tour

Worth It!
Yarina is an excellent guide. Very funny, very informative. 4 hours that go by quickly. You start early morning (7:15 if i recall correctly, no queues, almost no crowd. The museums first, Sistine chapel and st. peter's basilica at the end, where you can stay and go to the top by yourself.
