  1. Pamplona

We will pick you up very early in the morning and begin a 1-hour drive to Pamplona. During the journey your guide will give you an introduction of the history of the region, local traditions and what to expect throughout the day. In no time you will have arrived in Pamplona, the capital of Navarre. The remains of the turbulent history of the city can be found almost around every corner. Pamplona was founded on a large plateau by Romans in 1st century B.C, from 4th until 9th century it was under control of Visigoths and Muslims and in the Middle Ages it became the capital of the Kingdom of Navarre. Nowadays Pamplona is a University city famed for the colorful celebrations of San Fermin.

The residents whose houses happen to stand along the route hire their private balconies for visitors during the festivity. In this way we are able to enjoy the best views of the run! The owners not only will let us into their apartment but also prepare us a breakfast! The bull run called ‘encierro’ is a spectacular event that involves hundreds of people running in front of a herd of bulls down the narrow streets of the Historic Part of Pamplona. The run ends in the bullring where the bulls would be held until the afternoon's bullfight. During this time the guide will explain the history of the bull runs and all the celebrations that are going on during the festival.

After having watched the event we will leave our balcony and walk all the way (around half mile) from Corrales de Santo Domingo where the run starts to the bullring where the run finishes. During San Fermin the city looks incredible. The party doesn’t stop for a week but for many locals, morning is the most important and enjoyable time of the day. Same as they we will finish up in one of the cafes for a delicious portion of churros with hot, thick chocolate! Around 11:00 in the morning we will be ready to head back and enjoy a scenic road all the way to San Sebastian!

Gora Euskal Herria!

Our trip to the first day of San Fermín festival exceeded all expectations. Seeing the bulls run was truly a once in a lifetime experience and for that morning we felt a part of the celebration. The logistics were flawlessly executed - Our guide navigated the morning of San Fermín with perfect efficiency and expertise. We parked a block away from the balcony and went directly into a local families apartment who made a traditional Basque breakfast and kept the coffee flowing all morning. After the run we walked the city and the guides took us to key spots and took awesome pictures. What truly elevated the trip was the conversation throughout the tour. Our guide was candid and passionate about the Basque Country. He let us guide the discussion and shared personal stories and cultural insights that you would never get in a group tour. Their enthusiasm was infectious, their care for the group was evident, and they went above and beyond to ensure everyone was comfortable, safe, and having an incredible time. If you're considering a trip to San Fermín, especially from San Sebastián, we cannot recommend this tour and these guides highly enough. They transformed a bucket-list event into an unforgettable adventure!

Response from the operator: Thank Your Melissa, What an incredible experience to read about. San Fermín is something truly unique, and we’re really glad you got to live it in such a close and personal way. We really appreciate you sharing this.

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for San Sebastian.

How much does Private Pamplona SAN FERMIN & Bull Run Pick up from San Sebastian cost?

+

Prices start at $25 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in San Sebastian usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Pamplona SAN FERMIN & Bull Run Pick up from San Sebastian take?

+

Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in San Sebastian is not rushed.

Is Private Pamplona SAN FERMIN & Bull Run Pick up from San Sebastian worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 72 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 11 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in San Sebastian, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Pamplona SAN FERMIN & Bull Run Pick up from San Sebastian?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Pamplona SAN FERMIN & Bull Run Pick up from San Sebastian suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Pamplona SAN FERMIN & Bull Run Pick up from San Sebastian?

+

Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in San Sebastian can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in San Sebastian and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Pamplona SAN FERMIN & Bull Run Pick up from San Sebastian start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central San Sebastian within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in San Sebastian?

+

On Outty we rank every San Sebastian experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Small-Group Electric Bike Tour in San Sebastián, San Sebastian Old Town Pintxos & Wine Tour Small Group Tour, San Sebastian Premium Pintxo Food, Wine & Market Foodie Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit San Sebastian?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in San Sebastian?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
