Due to the Corona crisis, the famous Oberammergau Passion Play had to be postponed for the first time since WWII. During our guided tour of the village we will be happy to show you the Theater building with its spectacular convertible stage and also gladly explain you the enchanting wall paintings ("Lüftlmalerei"). Take the time to go shopping - numerous shops offer souvenirs in a wide and non-expensive range, including the famous Oberammergau wood carvings.

Ettal Abbey
If you want to see (and understand) another baroque masterpiece concerning church decorations, inserted in a 12-page domed room from the 14th century, you should follow your guide in the Ettal Benedictine monastery near a little passo, just a 5 minutes’ drive away from Oberammergau.
20 minutes here
Pilgrimage Church of Wies
On the way to or from the castles it would be a pity to pass one of the overwhelming baroque churches. Your guide will provide you with all the worth knowing information, for example about the very popular Wies-Church, or – what we not recommend less – one of the other nearby churches, which are still "secret tips", quiet and peaceful far away from the tourist masses.

- Are you able to walk slightly uphill from the car park to Neuschwanstein castle - approx. 1,5 km/1mile in an hour's time? If not, we have to calculate additional (waiting-) time for the horse-hybrid carriage or the Shuttle bus (not operating during snow and ice) – Anyway, an approx. 450 meters/0.28 miles uphill walk (up to 15 % slope) or an approx. 500 meters/0.3 miles downhill walk (up to 19 % gradient) from the respective terminal to the entrance of the castle have to be managed in any case! Great experience
Great tour and tour options and was organized very efficiently. The hike was not 15 minutes as was told to us…it was much longer.
Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to write this wonderful review. We are pleased that you were so satisfied with our tour and the tour concept. One reason for the popularity of our tours is the clear and honest communication with our guests before the tour start, so that we can create a tailor-made product for each client, taking into account as many wishes as possible. Of course, it was no different in your case: we have indeed told you in writing about "15-minute hikes" to both Hohenschwangau Castle and Neuschwanstein Castle, but in the latter case only if you had driven the first stage by horse-drawn carriage (it's then the mentioned 15-minute walk from the carriage mountain station to the entrance to Neuschwanstein). In order to avoid possible waiting times at the carriages, (you requested a very late pick-up time), I asked you if it was possible for you to do the ENTIRE distance on foot within 40 - 45 minutes, which you DID confirm to me in writing(!) This allowed us additional time for further sightseeing. All details on how best to reach the castles can also be found in our tour description under “Additional Info”. Thanks again, and we would be very happy to welcome you as our guests again soon! Stefan, owner of SIGHTSEEING BAVARIA EXCLUSIVE

Great tour of Neuschwanstein Castle!
We absolutely loved our tour of Neuschwanstein Castle! It is absolutely gorgeous! Take the carriage ride up to the restaurant area because it's a very steep climb to the castle.

Spectacular trip
Spectacular trip with Stefan. Visited both Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau castles. Also did the carriage ride, which was nothing special. Made a fun drive on the Autobahn. Dropped off at the castles to tour on our own, with a time table. Guide made us a reservation at the hotel restaurant onsite, which was wonderful (on our own for payment). Drove through Oberammergau on the way home and driver took the time to stop at a great wood carving shop in town. Overall, would highly, highly recommend

Why this scores 64
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Neuschwanstein Romantic Winter Tour with Tickets included: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Munich.
How much does Private Neuschwanstein Romantic Winter Tour with Tickets included cost?
+
Prices start at $208 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Munich usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Neuschwanstein Romantic Winter Tour with Tickets included take?
+
Plan for about 9.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Munich is not rushed.
Is Private Neuschwanstein Romantic Winter Tour with Tickets included worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 64 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Munich, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Neuschwanstein Romantic Winter Tour with Tickets included?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Neuschwanstein Romantic Winter Tour with Tickets included suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 9.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Neuschwanstein Romantic Winter Tour with Tickets included?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Munich can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Munich and add a light layer if any part of the 9.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Neuschwanstein Romantic Winter Tour with Tickets included start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Munich within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Munich?
+
On Outty we rank every Munich experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Guided Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site Tour with Train from Munich, Munich Classic Bike Tour @ 11.30am with Surfers & beergarden stop, Dachau Memorial Half-Day Tour from Munich (Early-Start). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Munich?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Munich?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
