About this experience
Dye It Yourself (DIY) which is a state of the art, one of a kind workshop where participants can learn the art of dyeing, Shibori & Blockprinting all with natural colors. DiY aims is to educate and create awareness among participants about use of natural dyes and its positive impact on environment. During this activity we try and use waste from our kitchen & surrounding which can be helpful for natural dyeing. The idea for the workshop came from the fact that chemical dyes are one of the major sources of pollutants today in textile. Our aim is for people to include sustainability as a filter as well before any purchase of textiles.

Proper Do-It-Yourself Natural Dye Workshop - Love it!!
I've been meaning to leave a review given how positive my experience had been with Sidhant and the craftsmen who showed us how to make beautiful tie-dye fashion and block printing. Yet I have managed to procrastinate this review for six months as words can't quite express how lovely the day was. Expect this to be a full day experience, departing from the city around 9am for an offsite location in a suburban area. On the way, you get to see where the real factories are and experience another beautiful, quieter side of India, away from the traffic and honking. The day was spent in their office courtyard, all under shade. Because were were away from the city, there was a lot less pollution and it was so peaceful in the courtyard. Overall, the atmosphere was incredible! I've learned so much about the entire natural dye process, including how each colour was made, and what types of fabric (cotton, linen, wool vs synthetics) can better handle colour. As for the block printing, we didn't get to carve the block prints ourselves. Instead, we just learned how to use existing blocks to make print patterns. Personally, I would've preferred to get hands-on with carving the blocks then printing them, and that would be better allocated into another whole day experience. In short, I highly recommend spending the day with Sidhant and his team because you're not only learning about tie-dying but you actually get to create multiple pieces of beautiful art and fashion to take home.

Solo full day workshop
The best experience I've had in India. The team is incredibly knowledgeable and welcoming. They were able to answer any questions I had. It was a hands on workshop, where I got to try every process myself. It is a great and engaging way to learn more about sustainability.

Colors of happiness
Absolutely amazing experience with Sidhant, Vaibhav and the whole team of Dye it Yourselves (DIY) at Sodhani Biotech. A big shout out to the team for the effort they took in setting up this workshop solely for us and spending the entire day with us answering all sorts of questions. We chanced upon DIY in TA and initial communication was not very prompt. So we had given up hope and then Vaibhav got in touch and we decided to take the plunge and book a full day workshop for Tie & Dye and hand block printing. Received the location on the prior evening and we set out in an Uber. We ended up somewhere deep inside an industrial belt (at least it felt so) and the internal sceptic (myself) was having a field day ridiculing me for this adventure. Anyway, after a drive that seemed to never end, we reached and was met by Sidhant and Vaibhav. The game changed from that point onwards and boy, we are so happy we went. Sidhant gave us a very good introduction to natural dyes, their uses etc. and also told us about his entrepreneurial journey. He patiently answered all questions that my 11 year old asked and really made it a pleasant experience. Vaibhav led us through the workshops, often acting as the interpreter, helper, guide and coach. A big salute to Salim ji who did the Tie & Dye workshop and to Manish ji who did the hand block printing workshop. A huge shoutout to all of them and in particular, to Sidhant, who took time out of his schedule and spent a lot of time through the Tie & Dye workshop. He gave suggestions on colors as well as the use of multi colors to make the outcome look nice. A big credit to the team that they did not cut any corners throughout the workshop and really allowed us to enjoy the experience thoroughly. Nothing was off limits and they were all working together to make our day memorable. We understood later that they had stopped doing these workshops of late and our request rekindled it. Really hope that they continue to offer this experience. To all Jaipur visitors, we would say that this is truly one of the best experiences to avail during your visit. End of the day we left with cloth bags carrying the designs we created, articles of clothing we ourselves dyed, many packets of natural dyes, lots of knowledge and hearts brimming with happiness.

Why this scores 63
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Natural Dye and Block Print Workshop with Lunch: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Jaipur.
How much does Private Natural Dye and Block Print Workshop with Lunch cost?
+
Prices start at $82 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Jaipur usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Natural Dye and Block Print Workshop with Lunch take?
+
Plan for about 5.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Jaipur is not rushed.
Is Private Natural Dye and Block Print Workshop with Lunch worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 63 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Jaipur, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Natural Dye and Block Print Workshop with Lunch?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Natural Dye and Block Print Workshop with Lunch suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 8. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 5.5-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Private Natural Dye and Block Print Workshop with Lunch?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Jaipur can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Jaipur and add a light layer if any part of the 5.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Natural Dye and Block Print Workshop with Lunch start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Jaipur within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Jaipur?
+
On Outty we rank every Jaipur experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Private Sunrise Taj Mahal Tour from Delhi By Car -All inclusive, Private Jaipur Full One Day Tour In Pink City With Guide, Private Full Day Jaipur Sightseeing Tour By Tuk Tuk. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Jaipur?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Jaipur?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
