Nauplion Promenade is a pedestrian promenade that leads to the sea in the coastal city of Nauplion, on the Central Greek island of Lefkada. The Archaeological Museum of Nauplion (in Greek, Archaeological Museum of the Zappeion) is a Greek archaeological museum in the city of Nauplion, on the island of Peloponnese. The tower is an impressive work of art, known by its original Turkish name Bourtzi, meaning the Tower. The castle was built in Nafplion, Greece in 1471 by Antonio Gambello on an islet near the harbour. The tower became a landmark of the city and a strategic point for defense. In 1820, the tower was saved from destruction by Eustathios Venizelos, who removed it from the island and rebuilt it in Nafplion's central square as a part of his plan for "re-urbanizing" the city.
