Fun family adventure!
Great time on the mountain. Our guide Ben was friendly, informative, and helpful. Nice giving we were novices! He tailored the trip to our climbing level and kept us safe!

Sky Island Package
Our family of four (two teenagers) was in the Tucson area over spring break and we did both a half-day canyoneering and a half-day rock climbing with Altitude Mountain Guides. Ben and Daily were fabulous guides and excellent instructors. They have all of the best equipment, and we felt very safe the whole time. Both days were a lot of fun and we would absolutely recommend these experiences.
Response from the operator: Thank you for the review, Lyssa. Great spending a couple of days adventuring with you and your family!

Best Day in Tucson!
Had a fabulous day out climbing with Ben! Drove up Mt Lemmon to the pine trees and walked a short distance to a nice climbing wall with a number of routes. On a particularly warm day in Februrary, the temperatures were fabulous at 7000 ft. Ben is extremely safe and sets up an easy first climb to get an idea what the guest(s) are comfortable with. Ben has an easy-going, encouraging style. My friend and I actually booked a full day with Ben and climbed a number of different routes. I highly recommend this as an exciting day in Tucson with amazing views!
Response from the operator: Thank you for the nice review Anne! Can't beat winter climbing in Tucson. You and Jeff were great and we hope to see you again.

Made our whole vacation!
This was the highlight of our trip to Tucson. My buddies and I came down here on vacation not realizing how hot it was going to be in September (oops). Trying to get out of the heat we were looking for things to do up in the mountains and found this company randomly. Beautiful up there and our guide knew all the best spots, taught us the ropes (no pun intended), and facilitated an amazing day for us. Don't be scared if you're not the most athletic, lord knows I'm not! But I had a great time and got up about 5 or 6 different beginner routes our guide choose. Came away with a bunch of cool photos too, definitely recommend it!
Response from the operator: Thank you again DeAndre and we're thrilled you had such a nice time!

One of my favorite vacation activities of my life
Definitely a 5-star experience and one of my favorite vacation activities of my life. Dealing with the company was easy, and our guide was amazing. I visit family in Tucson a couple of times a year but had never been up into the mountains until this trip but I'm so glad I did. It's gorgeous, even when Tucson the city is hotttt. We had an 8 and 12 yo with us and they had a blast. I plan to book another trip next time i'm in town.
Response from the operator: Thank you for the review and we hope to see you again soon!

Why this scores 59
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Mt. Lemmon Rock Climbing Half-Day Tour in Arizona: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Tucson.
How much does Private Mt. Lemmon Rock Climbing Half-Day Tour in Arizona cost?
+
Prices start at $230 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Tucson usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Mt. Lemmon Rock Climbing Half-Day Tour in Arizona take?
+
Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Tucson is not rushed.
Is Private Mt. Lemmon Rock Climbing Half-Day Tour in Arizona worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 59 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 9 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Tucson, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Mt. Lemmon Rock Climbing Half-Day Tour in Arizona?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Mt. Lemmon Rock Climbing Half-Day Tour in Arizona suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Mt. Lemmon Rock Climbing Half-Day Tour in Arizona?
+
Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Tucson can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Tucson and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Mt. Lemmon Rock Climbing Half-Day Tour in Arizona start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Tucson within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Tucson?
+
Tucson's list is Saguaro National Park drives and hikes, Sabino Canyon, Mount Lemmon sky island runs, Tombstone and Bisbee day trips, and Sonoran food tours through some of the best Mexican cooking in the country. Trail difficulty and shuttle logistics vary widely here. On Outty we rank every Tucson experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Tucson Food Tours- Locally Owned Downtown Walking Food Tour, Tucson Authentic Food Tour with 6 Dishes of Southwestern Flavors, Pistoleros Wild West Show Ticket, Tucson, Arizona. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Tucson?
+
October to April, avoiding the summer monsoon afternoons. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Tucson?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
