What you'll see and do

  1. Montserrat

Here you will have the opportunity to explore the unbelievable feat of architecture and the incredible intricacies, plazas, vistas, chapels and sanctuaries. You will enter and explore the Basilica, enjoying a walk through the chapels along the way, followed by an incredibly scenic walk along the "Rosary of Montserrat", which leads to the sacred cave of Santa Cova. (Although we do take the Santa Cova funicular part of the way, this walk still involves 45 minutes of walking, round-trip. Those that are not physically capable of this much walking, or are simply not interested, can do the shorter walk to the Sant Miquel viewpoint, or visit the Montserrat Art Museum. Both are fantastic options.)

Great experience!

Our tour guide made our experience wonderful! So knowledgeable- so sweet - if you do this tour you should definitely ask for Rebecca

Perfect Day at Montserrat

Rebecca picked us up right on time and we drove to Montserrat. Monterrat was beautiful in the morning with clouds intermittently obscuring parts of the views. Rebecca did a great job explaining a bit of history about the region and the lore of Monserrat and the Black Madonna. We visited the basilica and then listened to the amazing boys choir. We had a very good lunch then headed to wine tasting. On the way, Rebecca described some of the nuances of the region's wine. The wine tasting experience was very well done and the wine was delicious. On the way back, Rebecca gave us a great dinner rec.

Interesting, relaxed and informative

Tremendous day out with Rebecca. Very knowledgeable and friendly. The genuine local restaurant experience a particular high point but overall the whole experience was great with no stress involved with finding meeting points etc.

Outstanding immersion in all things Catalan

Rebecca was an outstanding host. Knowledgeable about both Catalonia and the wine. Worth every penny to be privately guided through it all - totally relaxing - no stress at all. Authentic restaurant a lovely change from usual tourist traps. Would be delighted to have her as a host / guide again.

Private Montserrat with Lunch and Wine Tasting from Barcelona: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Barcelona.

How much does Private Montserrat with Lunch and Wine Tasting from Barcelona cost?

+

Prices start at $188 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Barcelona usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Montserrat with Lunch and Wine Tasting from Barcelona take?

+

Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Barcelona is not rushed.

Is Private Montserrat with Lunch and Wine Tasting from Barcelona worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 75 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 66 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Barcelona, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Montserrat with Lunch and Wine Tasting from Barcelona?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Montserrat with Lunch and Wine Tasting from Barcelona suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 10-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Montserrat with Lunch and Wine Tasting from Barcelona?

+

Around 23 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Barcelona can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Barcelona and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Montserrat with Lunch and Wine Tasting from Barcelona start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Barcelona within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Barcelona?

+

Barcelona's Gaudí sites are capacity-limited and the official timed tickets go first, so most of the market is resellers with a guide attached. We weight those heavily on whether the guide is an architecture specialist. Beyond Gaudí, the tapas crawls in Gràcia and the Montserrat day trips carry the highest rankings in the city. On Outty we rank every Barcelona experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Gràcia Tapas and Vermouth Crawl, Costa Brava Tour: Kayak, Snorkel & Cliff Jump from Barcelona, Costa Brava Tour: Kayak, Snorkel, Cliff Jump & lunch Small Group. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Barcelona?

+

May, June, September and October. Sagrada Família light is best mid-morning. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Barcelona?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
