Amazing experience with a great team!!!

AMAZING experience! Breanna was fantastic about answering my questions emailed to her prior to our trip; she and Lovensky showed up right on time for pick up at our hotel. Both Breanna and Lovensky were incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and professional... just a delight to be with! The hike itself was incredible; just a great way to see the trails knowing you're with an experienced guide to help lead you (including helping us all balance on some stream crossings!). The waterfall was an excellent payoff for the hike. Overall, couldn't recommend this more highly and would happily do another tour with California Dream Trails when next I'm in town!

Response from the operator: We had a blast hiking with your group. Thank you so much for your kind review and we look forward to your next adventure with us at California Dream Trails!

Hike Edward Albert Escondido Trail, and waterfall

Our hike on the Escondido Canyon Trail to the waterfall was such a beautiful way to spend the morning! We were picked up promptly and provided a great keepsake canvas bag with snacks and water and given some history of the sites on our drive. Brianna was a knowledgeable & passionate hiking guide and made our walk interesting and allowed us to go at our own pace. I would definitely recommend California Dream Trails for your next guided visit when in Malibu. Thank you, Brianna and Levinsky!

Response from the operator: We had such a blast adventuring with your group. Thank you so much for the kind review and we can't wait for your next visit to LA!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for the recommendation and for hiking with us! We hope to guide you again in the future.

The perfect balance of adventure and peacefulness!

My husband and I had a blast on this adventure. From the ocean views on the ride to the trail to fun stream crossings and the gorgeous hidden waterfall that we had to ourselves, it was a highlight of our trip to CA! Our guide was kind, attentive, and fun. Whether it's an adventure for one or a group, I'd highly recommend. :)

Private Malibu Waterfall Hike & Pacific Coast Drive: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Malibu.

How much does Private Malibu Waterfall Hike & Pacific Coast Drive cost?

    +

Prices start at $795 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Malibu usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Malibu Waterfall Hike & Pacific Coast Drive take?

    +

Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Malibu is not rushed.

Is Private Malibu Waterfall Hike & Pacific Coast Drive worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 67 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 20 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Malibu, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Malibu Waterfall Hike & Pacific Coast Drive?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Malibu Waterfall Hike & Pacific Coast Drive suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Malibu Waterfall Hike & Pacific Coast Drive?

    +

Around 7 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Malibu can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Malibu and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Malibu Waterfall Hike & Pacific Coast Drive start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Malibu within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Malibu?

    +

Malibu, CA packs its best experiences into walkable neighborhoods, local food, and day trips nearby. Outty ranks every bookable tour and activity in Malibu by rating quality, review depth, booking demand and value, so you can see the standouts before you book. On Outty we rank every Malibu experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Malibu: Guided Vineyard Hike with Photo Stops and Wine, Scenic Malibu Overlook Electric Bike Tour for Beginners, Malibu Wine, Food & Beach Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Malibu?

    +

Spring and fall bring the best weather and lighter crowds in Malibu, while summer has the widest choice of tours and evening activities. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Malibu?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
