Amazing Private Luxor Day Trip from Hurghada

We had an excellent private day trip to Luxor from Hurghada. The journey was very well organized, and having a private guide and vehicle made the whole experience much more comfortable and enjoyable. The Valley of the Kings was one of the highlights of the day, and our guide explained the history of the tombs in a very interesting and easy-to-understand way. Karnak Temple was equally impressive, and we had enough time to explore and take photos without feeling rushed. Our guide was knowledgeable, friendly and attentive throughout the day, and the driver made the long journey feel safe and comfortable. It is a full and long day, but absolutely worth it if you are staying in Hurghada and want to experience the history and monuments of Luxor privately. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a well-organized and memorable Luxor experience.

The bus didn’t come to the pick up point and the company did not respond until Viator customer support contacted them

I waited at the pick up point for 1 hour since 15 mins before 4:30am (pickup time) but the bus did NOT come without any messages. I texted the company via Viator app and Whatsapp, also called the phone number of the company written in the tour details page, but they did NOT answer at all! I contacted Viator customer support and a customer support person contacted the company for refund, and finally we received their answer. I received the refund in 4 days but I wasted the day due to this terrible service … so I do NOT recommend this tour if you don’t want to have a risk to waste your precious travel time.

Response from the operator: Dear Mako, thank you for your feedback, and we are sorry about your morning. Waiting an hour in the dark without a driver is not the experience we want for any guest. Several accommodations in the area have similar names, and we should have confirmed your exact location with you before the day. We now ask every guest for a Google Maps pin and confirm the pickup time by WhatsApp the evening before. We are glad the refund reached you, and we would welcome the chance to do better on a future trip. HurghadaToGo Team

    Time problems

When booked said would be 12 hours. Was 17 hours missed dinner at hotel on return so ate once all day.

Response from the operator: Dear Richard, thank you for telling us, and we apologise that you returned late and missed your dinner. The drive to Luxor takes around 4 hours each way, plus checkpoints and traffic, and your day ran longer than the time on our listing. We have updated the listing to show a realistic 15–16 hours, and we now tell guests the expected return window before the tour so they can plan their evening. Thank you for helping us improve. A full 5-star experience

Our pickup was right on time in the morning, and the van was comfortable and air-conditioned, which made the long drive to Luxor really easy and relaxing. Traveling in a small group was perfect—it felt personal, cozy, and way more enjoyable than being part of a huge tour. Once we arrived in Luxor, the magic of the city hit immediately. Ancient history surrounds you at every corner, but what really made it come alive was our tour guide, Nuba. She is absolutely amazing—warm, friendly, and clearly deeply passionate about Egypt’s history. From the first moment, it was obvious that this isn’t just a job for her—it’s a calling. She has this ability to make every story, every temple, and every tomb fascinating, and she explains things in a way that feels natural and interesting, never overwhelming. Visiting the Valley of the Kings was a highlight that I’ll never forget. Walking through those ancient tombs and listening to Nuba explain the pharaohs’ lives, rituals, and afterlife was completely captivating. She gave us plenty of time to explore, take photos, and really soak it all in, so it didn’t feel rushed at all. You could tell she genuinely wants everyone to enjoy the experience fully. Everywhere we went, Nuba was incredibly attentive. She checked that everyone was comfortable, offered helpful tips, and made sure we didn’t miss a thing. The pace of the tour was just right, and she kept everything organized without making it feel like we were on a strict schedule. Her calm, friendly energy made the day feel effortless. Lunch was another treat—a local Egyptian restaurant with delicious, fresh food. It was the perfect chance to relax, chat with the group, and refuel before exploring more of Luxor. Honestly, every detail of this tour, from timing to meals to the flow of the day, felt carefully thought out. By the time we headed back to Hurghada, we were tired but completely happy. This wasn’t just a tour; it was a journey—an experience that let us connect with the history and culture of Luxor in a way that felt personal, authentic, and unforgettable.

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Hurghada.

How much does Private Luxor Day Trip from Hurghada Valley of the Kings & Karnak cost?

    +

Prices start at $20 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Hurghada usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Luxor Day Trip from Hurghada Valley of the Kings & Karnak take?

    +

Plan for about 15 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Hurghada is not rushed.

Is Private Luxor Day Trip from Hurghada Valley of the Kings & Karnak worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 72 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 50 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Hurghada, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Luxor Day Trip from Hurghada Valley of the Kings & Karnak?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Luxor Day Trip from Hurghada Valley of the Kings & Karnak suitable for kids and families?

    +

Around 18 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Hurghada can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Hurghada and add a light layer if any part of the 15-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

What are the best things to do in Hurghada?

    +

On Outty we rank every Hurghada experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Hurghada Diving Adventure one Day with two Dives Boat Trip, Hurghada to Cairo: Pyramids & Museum for First-Time Visitors, Hurghada Scuba Diving Full Day Boat Trip With Lunch & Transfer. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Hurghada?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Hurghada?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
