    1. Skinny Bridge

The Skinny Bridge, known as Magere Brug in Dutch, is an iconic wooden drawbridge located in Amsterdam. Spanning the Amstel River, this picturesque bridge connects the Keizersgracht and the Prinsengracht. Originally built in the late 17th century, it has become a symbol of the city’s charming canals and historic architecture. The bridge earned its nickname, "Skinny Bridge," due to its narrow design, which was a result of the need to accommodate pedestrians while ensuring boat traffic could pass beneath it. It features a charming white wooden structure with traditional Dutch design elements, making it a popular spot for photographs. The Magere Brug is especially enchanting when illuminated at night, providing a romantic backdrop for evening strolls. Lack of Communication

Very disappointing experience with this company. We have a trip to Amsterdam scheduled for May 7 and have reservations for a Private Dinner Cruise with this company. Not Cheap at $631 US! Had to rebook for a different time on the same day due to flight issues... handled by "Vanessa" over the phone and via email very quickly. Asked to confirm by going up on their web page booking site and reserving the new time, however what was conveyed to me by Vanessa with the Rebooking does not confirm with what is offered on their website. I have tried for several weeks to reach her, or anyone at the company, via emails and phone calls but no response. Sadly we have other available time slots but this company (now that they have my money) is silent in response. Just sent an official "cancellation notice" as we have found another company to book with for a magical dinner that evening. If they don't respond, next is a credit card dispute, and a call to the European Consumer Centre of the Netherlands. Let see if I get a response now.

Response from the operator: Dear Pat you know as well as me that giving 1 star reviews is not very fair if you have not been one of our guests! Your initial booking was rebooked very accurately according to your request to start later in the day on May 7. A rebooking confirmation was sent immediately. After that we have received one email from you asking us what boat would do the cruise. Since we only have 2 boats ,which are both beautiful and charming, we indeed did not yet answer that question as we have not yet made our planning (it is now half April) .We would appreciate if you delete your negative review about a cruise you have not even experienced. It would also be fair to admit to future customers that your refund email came in 5 minutes after you requested a cancellation. So there is no issue with not being refunded. We only have 5 star reviews as we are always fair in our service and will help our customers wherever we can.

Romantic Dinner Cruise on the Delphine

My wife and I celebrated her birthday with a private dinner cruise of Amsterdam's canals on the Delphine. What a special evening! Frederick was our captain, tour guide, maître d, and waiter all rolled into one. It was a gloriously beautiful evening for a cruise, and the dinner and service were equally superb. Each course was delicious as was the wine. But what set the night off from any other was the unique experience of gliding along the canals in this quaint little boat. You can't get much more romantic than this. And to top it off, Frederick dropped us off at our hotel.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your kind review! Happy you enjoyed the tour and canal boat Delphine

Private Lunch or Dinner Cruise for 4 Guests: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Amsterdam.

How much does Private Lunch or Dinner Cruise for 4 Guests cost?

    +

Prices start at $690 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Amsterdam usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Lunch or Dinner Cruise for 4 Guests take?

    +

Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Amsterdam is not rushed.

Is Private Lunch or Dinner Cruise for 4 Guests worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 47 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.2/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Amsterdam, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Lunch or Dinner Cruise for 4 Guests?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Lunch or Dinner Cruise for 4 Guests suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Lunch or Dinner Cruise for 4 Guests?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Amsterdam can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Amsterdam and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Lunch or Dinner Cruise for 4 Guests start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Amsterdam within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Amsterdam?

    +

On Outty we rank every Amsterdam experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Amsterdam Canal Cruise with Local Guide and Small Group, Guided Bike Tour of Amsterdam's Highlights & Hidden Gems, Amsterdam: Luxury Canal Cruise including Cocktails & Snacks. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Amsterdam?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Amsterdam?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
