Excellent transfer private guide
I thoroughly enjoyed my time with Zhao Zongyue. He was always accessible, never pushy and was flexible in terms of my itinerary. He was an excellent driver and was always courteous and answering my nonstop questions. I would highly recommend him in this company moving forward.

Mutianya Great Wall layover tour
Our tour guide was Linda and our driver was Soon. Linda was awesome, she spoke very clear English and was very knowledgeable about her country( History teacher ). Linda was very friendly, respectful and very helpful and accommodating to my older parents. After the great wall, we had an authentic Chinese lunch that was very good. We were tired and decided not to go to the forbidden City. Linda took us instead to a part of the city that had 700 year old neighborhood and showed us how people live, we also got to play games with the locals in a town square. After walking a bit we ended up in an area with all kinds of food and shops. My husband even tried a scorpion and we had some Ice cream. We love being totally emerged in the culture. for the great wall and lunch we didn't have enough YEN, So Linda payed for us until we were able to get YEN. This was one of the BEST tours we have ever had. We are very happy we decided to take this tour. Soon was also very polite and a very safe driver.

Top option for making the most out of your layover time
Communication with the travel agency beforehand was excellent and as soon as we had arrived, our driver Fred was calling us to meet us at the arrival hall after we had finished the transit immigration process. Pease allow a time window for at least 1 hour for immigration. It turned out that Fred was a friend of the Travel agency owner, who spoke excellent English and also knew perfectly where to go and what to see in Beijing to make the most out of our layover time. Although he was not a guide he showed immense knowledge in Chinese history during out travel to the Great Wall. His suggestions on how to spend our limited amount of time where just perfect. He also helped buying the tickets for all attractions we saw, which saved us valuable time. After having a good time under best conditions at the Great Wall including a tea tasting ceremony at the governmental tea house we headed on to Beijing city center to see some more attractions. Cause the forbidden city closes early during winter time, he showed us a pavillion located at the top of a park just opposite, where we could see beautiful, enlightened Beijing city in 360 degrees. We then headed on to a nearby Hutong to grab some typical chinese food, which was delicious. On our way back to the airport we passed huge Tianamen square and the impressive CBD of Beijing. We are really thankful having made this tour, which gave us a wonderful introduction to our first time in China. Thank you, Fred, for your valuable company. We really had a good time with you in Beijing.

Why this scores 70
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Layover Transfer: Mutianyu Great Wall&City Attractions: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Beijing.
How much does Private Layover Transfer: Mutianyu Great Wall&City Attractions cost?
+
Prices start at $46 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Beijing usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Layover Transfer: Mutianyu Great Wall&City Attractions take?
+
Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Beijing is not rushed.
Is Private Layover Transfer: Mutianyu Great Wall&City Attractions worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 70 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 11 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Beijing, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Layover Transfer: Mutianyu Great Wall&City Attractions?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Layover Transfer: Mutianyu Great Wall&City Attractions suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Layover Transfer: Mutianyu Great Wall&City Attractions?
+
Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Beijing can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Beijing and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Layover Transfer: Mutianyu Great Wall&City Attractions start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Beijing within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Beijing?
+
On Outty we rank every Beijing experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Mubus: Mutianyu Great Wall Bus Tour with Summer Palace Options, Beijing: Top 6 Highlights All Inclusive 2-Day Private Tour, Private Mutianyu Great Wall Trip With English-Speaking Driver. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Beijing?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Beijing?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
