Beautiful fish, beautiful scenery and a Pro Guide!!!!

My teen son and I had an amazing day with Kristin. He is a great guide and an enjoyable fellow. He was ready to pick us up at our hotel in Reykjavik as planned. He put us on fish right away and was quick to get the right flies on the line, so we could get their attention. Arctic char was on my list and I have checked it off now. I also really appreciated how well he coached my 16 yr old son. He effectively and patiently worked with him and celebrated the fishes he caught. It was great to see my son feel successful and enjoying the day. Kristin has great skills as a fisherman and with people. What more can you ask for in a fishing guide!?!!

    Fantastic time in Iceland

Thankyou to Unnar,Gummi and Kristen for a fantastic time in Iceland. All appointments were met dead on time and communications in Iceland next to instant. The fishing was spectacular  many days catching multiple amounts of fish some often very large. It's not often you can catch the fish of your dreams then catch another and another straight after it Your guide is a "proper" guide and she or he will put you on fish even in the most challenging circumstances and feel more pleased than you at your catch. The fishing was only a part of the experience as we were placed in chic hotels and taken to many of Iceland star attractions in between fishing. Is it expensive.....yes Is it worth it .......yes.   You can try and do this on the cheap however the guides knowledge and Angling Is. Portfolio of venues will ensure you get maximum bang for your buck.   Already looking forward to my next trip.   Andrew and Rachael

Fly fishing heaven brought to you by Anglers.is!

My son and I are first time fly fishers and we were met by our guide Kristinn in the morning at our pre arranged location and what transpired from there was nothing short of magical!!! A morning introduction to the craft and we were off and running!!! By days end we had landed a total of 14 fish ( wild arctic char and brown trout) and missed another few!? Haha! Our guide Kristinn, owner of Anglers was kind and friendly, genuine and patient and the consummate professional putting us on the action and being the camera person as well. 30 years of fly fishing experience will do that! Thanking Anglers.is for the priceless experience and memories to last a lifetime Wishing you all the success and a busy season of tight lines!!! By the way, the weather was 20/10! Warmer than back in Canada!!!

    Opening week

Kristinn and Anton were fantastic guides for my husband and 3 boys that went out fishing just a few days after the season opened. Would highly recommend.

Best Fly Fishing trip come to life

We booked an amazing 2 day guided fly fishing trip with Anglers. It was beyond our expectations. Anton, our fishing guide really knew his rivers and the fish. We were very lucky to get him on both days we fished. We caught some amazing char. This was the trip of a lifetime. Thank you Anglers

Private Lake and River Fishing Tour from Reykjavik: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Reykjavik.

How much does Private Lake and River Fishing Tour from Reykjavik cost?

    +

Prices start at $545 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Reykjavik usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Lake and River Fishing Tour from Reykjavik take?

    +

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Reykjavik is not rushed.

Is Private Lake and River Fishing Tour from Reykjavik worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 73 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 45 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Reykjavik, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Lake and River Fishing Tour from Reykjavik?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Lake and River Fishing Tour from Reykjavik suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Lake and River Fishing Tour from Reykjavik?

    +

Around 16 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Reykjavik can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Reykjavik and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Lake and River Fishing Tour from Reykjavik start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Reykjavik within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Reykjavik?

    +

On Outty we rank every Reykjavik experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Reykjavik Food Walk - Local Foodie Adventure in Iceland, Small-Group Golden Circle, Blue Lagoon with Ticket & Kerid Crater, Reykjavík Small group Walking Tour - by CityWalk. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Reykjavik?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Reykjavik?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
