    A successful day in Croatia

Hello, for our first stay in Split, we thought about a supporting programme in advance. We also quickly became aware of the trips to Krka National Park and the waterfalls there. Since we valued a German-speaking tour and did not necessarily want to be ushered through the park in a group of over 30 people, we deliberately set our preferences and accepted the correspondingly higher price. On 12.04.2026 it was supposed to start at 09:00 Ur and our guide Tomislav contacted us the day before personally via WhatsApp to confirm the trip. We had agreed to contact him when booking. On the day of the trip we could relax and then go to the agreed meeting point, which we had agreed with Tomislav before. Our guide waited for us on time with a very well maintained car and greeted us friendly. After storing our luggage in the trunk, we also drove relaxed towards Krka. At the beginning of the ride we were offered drinks and it relaxed an almost friendly conversation. Tomislav is Croatian-born and told us a lot about himself and his homeland in the car - that was very entertaining. In addition, he had a pleasantly calm driving style and we reached the national park after about an hour, whose visit was more than worthwhile in our eyes. Tomislav also contributed a not inconsiderable amount to this positive feeling. I have a soft spot for photography and I also know the problems that come with this hobby with larger groups - once you have found a nice spot, you need a certain amount of time to capture this mood in the picture. After that, you rush after the group that has moved on and miss half. Here it was different, the guide waited for me while he entertained the rest of the small "group". In addition, Tomislav also went off the beaten track without losing sight of the main sights. Over 100 pictures and an ice cream later we went back to the car and our guide offered us to go to Šibenik. Even this small town blended in very well with our day trip. Clean and nice to experience on foot. Tomislav also gave us a lot of information here and led us, on our request, to a street with several restaurants on the waterfront. There we ate relaxed while our guide waited for us away. We would have invited him too, but he thankfully declined, as he was still scheduled privately in the evening. We were supposed to get in touch after dinner via WhatsApp and he picked us up again. Afterwards, we went back to Split in an air-conditioned car, where we were dropped off directly at the hotel. Overall a very successful day trip with many memories for us. A clear recommendation. If it is possible, interested parties should take advantage of the opportunity to take a private tour or at least take the form of a small group. The extra costs are more than compensated for by the far more beautiful experience. Tomislav offers both with his young company Black Apple Split.

Response from the operator: Liebe Mathias, Ich bin überrascht, mit so einer netten und freundlichen Bewertung hatte ich nicht gerechnet. Vielen herzlichen Dank! Ich kann es gar nicht in Worte fassen; Sie haben alles gesagt. Es ist mir eine Ehre, Sie hier in Kroatien als Reiseführer begleitet zu haben. Danke nochmal! Thomas

Private Krka Waterfalls /Šibenik is optional Cruise & City Guest: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Split.

How much does Private Krka Waterfalls /Šibenik is optional Cruise & City Guest cost?

    +

Prices start at $213 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Split usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Krka Waterfalls /Šibenik is optional Cruise & City Guest take?

    +

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Split is not rushed.

Is Private Krka Waterfalls /Šibenik is optional Cruise & City Guest worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 12 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Split, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Krka Waterfalls /Šibenik is optional Cruise & City Guest?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Krka Waterfalls /Šibenik is optional Cruise & City Guest suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Krka Waterfalls /Šibenik is optional Cruise & City Guest?

    +

Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Split can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Split and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Krka Waterfalls /Šibenik is optional Cruise & City Guest start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Split within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Split?

    +

On Outty we rank every Split experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Split Small-Group Walking Tour with a Magister of History, Split Walking Tour with Professor of History, From Split: Krka Waterfalls, Food & Wine Tasting Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Split?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Split?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
